About this listen

Bestselling author Abbie Halberstadt helps parents see how God can use the everyday trials of child raising to radically transform how they view hardship and grow to become more like Jesus.

"Why me, Lord?"

Amid the toddler tantrums, the mealtime melees, and the backseat blowups, have you found yourself asking God that same question? Maybe even screaming it into a couch pillow? You're not alone.

Your most trying moments as a parent can quickly spiral into discouragement, hopelessness, and sometimes even resentment toward God or your family—partly because our culture has conditioned us to believe that anything this hard can't possibly be good for us.

Abbie Halberstadt, author of the bestselling M Is for Mama, shares scriptural wisdom and lessons learned from her own challenges as a mama of ten to help shift your perspective on the hardships of parenting and of life, in general.

When you begin to see struggles as a necessary part of God's plan for your spiritual growth, you can discover supernatural peace and purpose, even when you're down in the deepest trenches of parenthood.

Such an encouragement

In a time when my patience always seems thin having two girls 2 and under and awaiting the arrival of my 3rd girl in a few months, this book gave me a great perspective shift. Motherhood isn’t easy, but it’s good and worth every ounce of aggravation. Also a great reminder to relish in the sweet moments.

She Did It Again!

I’ve listened to M Is For Mama twice in less than a year. When I heard there was a new book I had to listen to it, especially now that I have a three year old and an infant. Knowing that hard isn’t always bad is exactly what I need in this season of life, and what I have gained from this book it seems like I will need a constant reminder of that.
Abbey is an amazing author, so well written and full of the wisdom that comes from the Holy Spirit. Thank you for taking time to write these incredible books.

The best!

For someone who doesn’t like hard stuff and had conformed to the way the world lives, I very much appreciate Abby standing up for the way we should be living. I don’t have an example of how to live but so thankful to have her as a wonderful model of what Godly motherhood looks like.

Beautiful encouragement that points back to Christ

I appreciate Annie’s heart I’m pointing moms back to Christ and away from the draw to fall into the secular view of motherhood

Ahhh beautiful premise!

I absolutely love the title which is also the premise of this book. It’s important and it’s true. Abbie does a wonderful job imho giving practical biblical advice while sharing information and personal stories. I will likely reread this one or at the very least, refer back to several chapters over the years to come. Really grateful for the strongly backed reminder that Hard is not the same thing as Bad! And the importance of and gift that mothering truly is. Perspective shifts and how you voice what is happening in your world can literally change your life! Lastly, l’ll mention that I firmly believe in “The Hard” showing us the need for a savior! Without the hard in my life, I don’t know what could have brought me to Him so fiercely! And they keeps me needing him every moment of every day.

Laying all the Biblical truths out to mamas

The book was the exact perspective shift I needed at this current stage of my motherhood. I’ve been struggling with the numerous things mentioned in this book and have been praying to the Lord on how to put into words what I’m feeling and scripture to help. Abbie does the perfectly and brings all the biblical truths along with her. I’ve been convicted to take the hard and put it up against the truths of the Gospel and rest on the Lord and His Holy Spirit to grow and refine me. Galatians 6:9 holds a richer meaning now.
