About this listen

An all new duet narrated multicast series from USA Today best-selling authors Meg Anne and K. Loraine.

She’s everything I want, and I hate her for it.

Hate might not be the right emotion for what Dahlia stirs in me. But I can’t have her, so telling myself I don’t want her is the only option. Especially since my dog won’t leave her alone. While I’ve been doing my best to avoid the woman I crave, my pup has taken on the role of her protector. He follows her every chance he gets. That’s probably for the best because there’s a serial killer on the loose and he’s got his sights set on her. At least, that’s what the ghosts keep saying. With her beast out of commission it’s up to the rest of us to keep her safe.

Her fae outcast

Her rogue captain

And me…her reluctant shadow

As much as I should stay away, fate keeps throwing us together and it’s not hard to see the reason why. Dahlia is unlocking me piece by piece.

My memories might be slow to return, but my power isn’t. Since arriving at Blackwood it’s grown by leaps and bounds, bringing one truth into sharp focus. I need her, forbidden as she is. She’s the light to my darkness and despite our differences our powers are clearly connected. If I have any hope of solving the mystery of who I am, Dahlia and I will have to work together to stop the Ripper before he gets what he wants. Her.

She is the key to all of it. And without her, I will never again be whole.

For fans of Supernatural and American Horror Story, USA Today bestselling authors Meg Anne and K. Loraine are thrilled to bring you another installment in the Mate Games Universe.

Warning: The Mate Games: Death is a spicy paranormal series with a cast of antiheroes utterly devoted to their heroine (even if they haven’t realized it yet). It contains a cursed Novasgardian berserker with primal energy, a dastardly pirate captain who deals in pixie dust, a possessive fae dragon shifter who is fond of hand necklaces, and a mysterious Southern gentleman who’d show her what he liked if only he could remember.

Fascinating Story & Listen🎧Absolutely Incredible!

This second book of Meg Anne and K. Loraine’s “The Mate Games: Death” is just as amazing and exciting as the first book, “Haunting Beauty”, a not to be missed story. Dahlia Moore’s stay at the Blackwood Asylum continues to get more interesting as her story goes on. She mated with Tor in the first book, but he went into beast mode and is being held in protective custody, which is a protection for everyone else at Blackwood. With him locked up, someone else needs to look after Dahlia and there is no shortage of volunteers, but it is Malakai “Kai”, the dragon shifter that comes front and center. He, too, is a chosen mate for Dahlia and steps into the role with no resistance. We are learning more about all the characters, including the mysterious Cain Alexander, and the pieces of the puzzle are all coming together. There is never a dull moment in this book, the story is incredible and the writing, plot and world building are absolutely fantastic, as are the character growth and development. And that ending leaves us wanting more, actually needing more, and I can’t wait to find out what happens next at Blackwood and the amazing world they created because something is definitely brewing. Meg Anne & K. Loraine, thank you for another fabulous story and wild ride.

🎧📚🎧 The exceptional narration continues, performed in duet style by the superbly talented voice artists, Stella Hunter, J.F. Harding, Jason Clarke, John Hartley, James Joseph, Samantha Brentmoor. Their performance is a treat for the ears and you could hear how much heart they put into their performance as they work their magic at the mic. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration elevates this already amazing story to another level. Thank you for another amazing listen.

folklore and fairytales

5/5⭐️ 3.5/5🌶️ 5/5🎧
Audiobook Review: The theories are starting to unfold, but also leaving more theories to be pondered!! I’m loving this series of The Mate Games with all the folklore and fairytale mixed in. It definitely keeps you guessing which ones are incorporated and how. And the spice, as always, is chef’s freaking kiss. I can’t wait for the next installment.

Stella Hunter, Jason Clarke, JF Harding, James Joseph, John Hartley, and Samantha Brentmoor perform flawlessly together. This full cast audio team is elite.

Plot, spice, and a surprising new character voice

Narrated by Stella Hunter, Samantha Brentmoor, Jason Clarke, John Hartley, J.F. Harding, and James Joseph with a special appearance from another beloved narrator. Stella and Samantha are queens when it comes to their performances, and I'm loving the range of accents we get from both of them; however, I think Jason Clarke steals the show here with a his introduction of a new accent. Trust me, you'll know when you hear it.

I'm really enjoying how the story is unfolding and what we're learning about the characters. There are a couple plot twists/new information that comes into play, that I'm curious to see how it plays out because it contradicts information we already have. There are some really funny pop cultural references in the book that will have you chuckling, and the appearance of secondary and tertiary characters we've met in other books in this universe (not just the Mate Games books). Meg and Kim should be praised for keeping it all straight. While I'm enjoying the story, I'm came across a couple other continuity issues (or at least appear to be) in addition to the ones I found in Haunting Beauty. I think I need to go back and do a little research via eyeball read where I can search keywords.
