About this listen

From internationally bestselling author Andrea Camilleri comes a brilliant, bawdy comedy that will surprise even the most die-hard Montalbano fans.

In 1880s Vigàta, a stranger comes to town to open a pharmacy. Fofò turns out to be the son of a man made legendary for having a magic garden stocked with plants, fruits, and vegetables that could cure any ailment - a man who was found murdered years ago. Fofò escaped but has now reappeared looking to make his fortune and soon finds himself mixed up in the dealings of a philandering local marchese set on producing an heir.

An absurd, quirky murder mystery that recalls the most hilarious and farcical scenes of Shakespeare and The Canterbury Tales, HuntingSeason will introduce American readers to a refreshing new aspect of one of our best-loved writers.

Author in Search of A Reader

Camilleri is an excellent writer. Unfortunately, though I'm sure he tries his best, the reader is singularly unsuccessful narrating the author's works. He sounds more suited to reading Ed McBain 87th Precinct novels.

Awesome!

A great Audible listen, complimented by Gardner’s narration. One of Camilleri’s best non-Montalbano stories, which has a good moral to the story of being happy or not with getting what you think you want.

not your usual

Although I sort of knew how this would end, the journey was not as expected. So you must just keep listening. And listening to Grover Gardner is always a pleasure.

Strange and delightful

Great fan of this author already. This novel is fanciful and quite odd and increased my respect for Camilleri’s range. Love that it also took place in Vigata. So glad also for another chance to listen to this narrator. Really enjoyed this.

Wild, wacky, and entertaining

Marvelous tale of murder, love and vengeance in Sicily in the royal era. Full of magical characters, salaciousness, and even some affectionate bestiality.

No story no plot

Soft porn. Beware of an onslaught of questionable contents. Quite surprising from this author. But very revealing, in a bad way.
