About this listen

Trace Durham was injured in combat, given a purple heart, and discharged from the army. As time goes by, and he’s still confined to a wheelchair, his spirits plummet. But meeting a feisty widow whose husband had been killed while serving in the military makes him take a closer look at himself. After she apologizes and he meets her again at a photo shoot, he renews his determination not to accept his fate and begins a fight that carries over into his faith and personal relationships. Just maybe his future can be brighter than he thought.

Really enjoyed this sweet story by this author. I have listened to most of her books, and I love that I don’t have to question anything in them. Always sweet, clean and a great story.

What a mixture of emotions! I caught every one of them and even had a nail biting time. The soldier had been wounded in the war, but he turned back to God for comfort. It didn’t hurt him when he met his friend’s widow. The narrator did a great job and he had voices that could identify with the characters.

Wonderful!

What a wonderful story! I loved their growth in their relationship in God and their view of how God sees them and what God expects of them! It was horrible how the villain flipped his personality! I was shocked by the severity of the one scene, but I was grateful she was safe and not physically beaten! The narration was just about perfect!! None of the characters sounded fake, but they sounded like real people with different sounds and cadences. I love that the story was focused on the military veterans and their struggles after conflicts and how their families are affected! Especially as a veteran myself!

This was a very moving story and touched my heart for what the military personel and their families sometimes sacrifice for our country. A warrior and a warrior's widow meet and becoming involved in a photo shoot together. But God has more planned than just a photo project in mind. Their relationship becomes friendship which is encouraging for them both. It is a sweet, clean, faith-based book and completely enjoyed it!

I requested this audiobook from the author and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

I really enjoyed listening to this story. Trace is a wounded veteran who doesn't really want to be around people. A friend gets him to join him and some other ex military friends at a beach getaway. He meets Britney there and neither one was completely happy to be there. When their paths cross again, everything starts getting complicated. The story is clean and enjoyable. The narration is very enjoyable as well.

Definitely worth listening to
