About this listen

From a number-one New York Times best-selling author comes the story of Judas Iscariot - and the stunning betrayal that changed the course of history.

One of the great dramas of the biblical era is brought to thrilling, new life in this epic novel told from the unique perspective of Judas Iscariot himself. This is the story of Judas the myth, condemned by Dante to the most terrifying circle of Hell; Judas the man, the son of wealth and power who fought to suppress the lusts of the flesh and the sin of pride to become one of the 12 original disciples of Jesus Christ; and Judas the apostle, victim of a diabolical lie, history's arch-traitor, who sold his Lord for 30 pieces of silver, and sealed his fate with a kiss.

From Judas' years as the young rebel of an affluent family undone by his own idealism to his victimization by Pontius Pilate to the crucifixion and Christ's resurrection, I, Judas is one of the most powerful and revelatory works of religious fiction ever published.

Great

Worth reading this one. Follows the history pretty close. Although no one could know the small conversations

Don't Listen to the Nay-sayers

This is a wonderful book. I found it to have a great (speculative) narrative that I found quite plausible as to Judas' motive in betraying Jesus. Don't be afraid of a book

Interesting!

This was a surprisingly interesting read! A fictionalized account of Judas Iscariot and his journey with Jesus. I enjoyed it and it really made Judas much more than “the betrayer” it made him human.

It’s Historical Fiction

Reading some of these reviews makes me laugh. If you don’t understand what historical fiction is, you probably shouldn’t read it.

The story was well written, it weaved in the facts of the Bible with a unique perspective on an infamous maligned character that we know little of. Caldwell writes from a 1st person perspective as well as anyone, though I often felt a skosche bored and wanting more suspense.

a different take on Judas

I thought there were lots of places that could have used more biblical research. For example: Lazarus came out of the tomb, not the coffin. There were many details like that. Good narration, although I didn't like how Simon Peter was portrayed.

Hard to hear

At first I thought it was hard for me to hear the narrator because I was in a plane. But I can’t hear the story much in the car either. Most of my audible books are heard in the car. This one was inaudible.

This truly is a myth not Biblical at all!!!

Anyone who truly believes the Bible as it is the word of God will be highly offended by this made up mess!! It is only lies and goes completely against the true Word of God!!

This is not a novel, it is a bible remix.

This is not a novel, it is a bible remix, it has absolutely no added value. I want my 10 hours back.

Bold face lie throughout about Judas.

A book proclaiming the Gospel yet taking out of context, Heresy!!!! Would not recommend to anyone seeking a true revelation of the word of God, the life of Jesus, and the crucifixion and resurrection to give this story to a seeker with it's context being dislodged from the truth and the innuendo of astrology, and magic to explain the miracle working power of God's hand is HERESY.

Sorry

Sorry that they did not follow the Bible in what happen for the sake of a story! I understand that you have to add a lot of plausible fiction into it to make the story flow, but PLEASE be accurate in what the Bible Specifically spells out what happened!
