About this listen

★"Relentlessly entertaining." - New York Daily News★

A Jetliner Crashes in the Everglades.
A Billion-Dollar Lawsuit: Negligence or Terrorism?
The Defense: Kill Anyone, Even a Supreme Court Justice, to Win the Case.

Supreme Court Justice Sam Truitt takes the bench with high ideals, lofty intentions...and a troubled marriage. Lisa Fremont, his stunning and brilliant law clerk, has a dark secret in her past. If Lisa doesn't get Truitt's vote in multi-million dollar case involving a catastrophic airplane crash, she'll be killed.

IMPACT is a tale of seduction and betrayal, of passion and greed. Truitt, who has always followed the rules, and Lisa, who never has, join together to battle those who live by no law at all.

IMPACT was the inspiration for the CBS television drama "First Monday," starring James Garner and Joe Mantegna.

Distracting reader

The pronunciations of the AI reader were very distracting for me. A huge negative aspect of the listening experience.

The story was a good one and kept me listening despite the distractions.

The story was great but the narrator was awful. No inflection in his voice. It was like a robot was reading the story.

Bad narrator robot voice ruined how the story should have been read. Should use a regular human to read

Virtual voice. Mispronunciation of common words, and improper voice inflections

I didn’t like this version of virtual voice. I hope it improves because I feel this is the future of audiobooks

The epic just deserts of evil

This is a gripping story that moves swiftly at a hundred miles per hour. It explores justice and morality, loyalty and betrayal , love and deceit, ruthlessness and survival in a neat package of complicated relationships.

AI narration destroyed this book

I struggled through this listening because I like the author and the story is interesting. There is a mispronunciation or wrong word emphasis in almost every paragraph. Boeing 737 is pronounced "seven hundred and thirty seven" "That's your AGE" instead of "That's YOUR age" . In an other example ...Reh create the experience instead of Ree create. It's constant and distracting. I hope Paul Levine does not use this again.

Great story- but no fan of virtual voice narration!

Virtual voice is so flat and annoying with inappropriate hesitations and strange periodic change of sound. I will not listen to another book read this way.

Should be listed as a political book

Narration is monotone and it is hard to get interested in the storyline . I couldn’t get past the second chapter.
