About this listen

Attorney Megan O'Reilly has practiced law for over thirty years. After all her hard work she is on track to be made a partner at the large and powerful D.C. law firm where she works. The firm was founded by Arthur Tarkington, currently a United States Supreme Court justice. When the day comes for her to be made partner, she is given devastating news.

After being blindsided by her law firm, Megan meets a young woman who has been attacked by a powerful, high-profile man in D.C. The victim, Lucy Hatfield, is a nonpracticing attorney and the mother of a gravely ill young child. For her own personal reasons that are unknown to anyone else, Megan agrees to help Lucy pursue litigation against her attacker. The book unfolds at breakneck speed with unforeseen twists and turns. It's a book you will not be able to put down!

Would have never downloaded this if I had know it was AI generated narration! It was awful.

Horrible Naration

So real, sad it happens in real life and victims are denied justice in court everyday

It was a good story that dragged on but had a good twist toward the end

The story itself wasn’t terrible, but it lacked the spark that great writers have. And I had my doubts about virtual voice- it was a bit better than expected, but AI wasn’t able to use the correct inflection, cadence snd pronunciation in many places. It also often read “dot” where a period or sometimes a comma would have been, tacking it onto a phrase in a strange way.

Dull writing and unnatural narration

Good story. Glad I didn’t give up on it, but sure not to start any other books that forewarn that they are narrated by virtual voice. I really thought it wouldn’t matter, but it definitely did. Don’t do it. Read the book or make another selection. This one will disappoint you.

I enjoyed how the evidence of the rape was non existent due to error or other helping factors tied to the Supreme Court.

Dislike whisper narration as it lacks emotion, depth and real feelings. Dispatch of this format immediately

The words are not always translated properly with AI narrations. I think there needs to be a lot of improvement before I can say that I like this type of narration.

AI is awkward

I love this story. I took a chance on a book with no reviews. I recommend this book

Although the subject matter is uncomfortable, the story plowed through the difficult process of obtaining a rape conviction.

Great courtroom drama
