Publisher's summary

Ice Genesis! Ice Trilogy, Book 2.

The Americans and Russians are racing toward nuclear confrontation over a mind-blowing find under the ice in Antarctica. The American Executive Branch is in meltdown over the President’s order to detonate a highly classified Iso-Hafnium nuclear device in Antarctica, killing a platoon of Navy SEALs and the same number of Russian Special Operation, Spetnaz.

Having escaped the President’s plan to eliminate them, Dr. Leah Andrews and Jack Hobson have the upper hand, thanks to a nuclear device hidden in the New Mexico desert. This leverage will only last so long, and the key to unlocking the mystery lies with 28 Native American cliff dwellers who survived more than 800 years under the ice in stasis.

While Leah tries to untangle the mysteries of the Ancients, Jack Hobson is trying to protect Leah, and the Ancients, while finding himself drawn into another mystery; is there more of these high technology caches? If so, how will they secure them before other interested parties, including the Russians, locate them?

The key to the mystery, as Leah learns, is one of the Ancients. A Lakota Shaman, named Appanoose. He has no interest in cooperating with Leah, just as she knows stunning new facts about the Ancients and what happened to them more than 800 years ago.

Leah and Jack find themselves the targets of not only the US government but foreign powers and even the Ancients themselves, in the thrilling follow-up to Ice!

Narrated by national award winner Pamala Almand!

Worldwide adventure addiction!

This was a great adventure that I didn't want to stop listening! The main characters had me liking them and disliking them by turns but cheering for them in the end and I couldn't wait to listen to the other two. Reader just pulled me right into the story and the excitement and made each person real and relatable even different languages and accents. Impressive range and a lot of characters but not a problem keeping them straight and all of them were interesting individually too. I am waiting from more from author and reader but after listening to the Trilogy I don't think they can do a 4th one but if they pull it off I want to listen!

Now on to ICE REVELATIONS!

I’m very glad I stumbled upon this trilogy. It’s great! I thought ICE started a little bit slow, but I’m certainly glad I did not put it down. I’m hooked now and can’t wait to start ICE REVELATIONS as soon as I purchase it from Audible.

Excellent Storytelling

I've really enjoyed the Ice series and look forward to book 3. Great dialogue and writing paint a vivid picture for the reader. The narration is some of the best I've heard.

The adventure continues

Ice Genesis is the second book in the best selling and award winning Ice Trilogy by Kevin Tinto. Picking up right where the first novel ended, we find our heroes searching for answers to some really intriguing questions. With international tensions at an all-time high, Leah and Jack must unravel the mystery surrounding The Ancients, a group of native Americans that have survived for hundreds of years in stasis beneath the Antarctic ice.

Beautifully combining multiple genres, like mystery, thriller, adventure and science fiction, this second book of the saga is filled with action and tension as much as its predecessor.

After her superb performance of the first book, award winning narrator and voiceover artist Pamela Almand returns with another exquisite recording. Infusing each of the main characters with life by assigning them separate voices and accents, Pamela goes the extra mile and creates a level of complete immersion for the listener with her pronunciations of the words in foreign languages. I always appreciate the narrators who show such a dedication towards their projects and I applaud them for doing so. Pamela has climbed in the last few months to the top spots of my favorite female narrators in the audiobook industry.

Fast, immersive, intriguing and endlessly entertaining, Ice Genesis is a great continuation for the series and I can’t wait to listen to the next audiobook which should be released very soon. Beautifully written by Kevin and performed perfectly by Pamela, the Ice Trilogy should turn out to be an intriguing narrative experience for fans of Clive Cussler and for those who love the Uncharted series of video games.

Russians, Ancients, Nuclear Weapons and MORE!

Jack Hobson and Dr. Leah Andrews and others from the first ICE book survive the President’s attempt to eliminate them via a nuclear device. In their escape, Jack and Leah take their recently discovered ancients back to their original home. To keep everyone safe, Jack and Leah have hidden a nuclear device in New Mexico and Jack Paulson is neck-deep in politics to keep everyone safe. The Lakota Shaman, Appanoose, has an agenda on his mind and it takes everything Leah has to figure it out and make the right decision. Meanwhile, the Russians and Americans are on the verge of war and the Navy Seal survivors are trying to continue surviving.

The author, Kevin Tinto, gives his listeners a thrill a minute with this second book in the trilogy series. There is continuity with the characters he developed in book one that continued over to book two. Again, the dialog is solid and realistic. The political games being played are told convincingly and with an authentic feel to them. Tinto knows how to engage his listeners and keep them listening! I do have to say, the ending brought tears to my eyes.

The narrator, Pamela Almand is excellent! She slips on each character as if they were a part of her, she gives each one a unique yet solid voice. This was a book that I was surprised she did so well; she had to pronounce words from three different languages - Lakota, Russian, and one other. She did an excellent job of pronouncing them and still maintaining the cadence of her performance. Between Tinto’s superb writing skills and Pamela Almand’s outstanding performance, this is a book to hear!

I cannot wait for the third book!

There were no issues with the production or quality of the audiobook. It was clear and concise.

Ice: Genesis has been awarded the AudioBookReviewer Choice Award. This prestigious award is presented to the author of the book whose book is believed to deserve higher than the standard 5 Star Rating.
