Publisher's summary

  1. (How about some women, am I right?)

From television actress, Broadway star, and New York Times bestselling author Kristin Chenoweth comes I'm No Philosopher, But I Got Thoughts, a book featuring philosophical-ish musings on connection, creativity, loss, love, faith, and closure. Just like Kristin’s grandmother inspired her to trust her heart and develop her own belief system, you'll be inspired to develop your own life philosophies, as you journey through some of Kristin's most vulnerable and humorous personal stories, in her constant pursuit to make the most out of life.

In each chapter, you'll find behind-the-scenes stories from Kristin’s personal life, engaging prompts, prayers, and inspiring quotes.

Oh, and a warning: There will be Bible verses. There will be f-bombs. Read responsibly.

I'm No Philosopher, But I Got Thoughts is the perfect book to pick up on days when you need an extra shot of encouragement, a little laughter, and a gentle reminder that kindness can take you a long way. This is perfect for fans of Kristin Chenoweth, known for her Emmy Award–winning role in the ABC hit series Pushing Daisies and Broadway's Wicked.

Exactly what I needed to hear

Kristin Chenoweth being the wonderful, talented, kind, loving and all around beautiful human being shares heartfelt stories, leans into vulnerability and sprinkles in her little tidbits of knowledge. I laughed and cried, and laughed and cried some more while listening to this. She did such a phenomenal job narrating this book. There was never a dull moment! I will definitely come back to this book on days where I just need a extra bit of joy. I couldn’t recommend it enough.

On my 3rd Listen

Ok so when I saw this book I knew I had to have it. When I realized the author was reading it I was in heaven. Yes this book has a strong Christian thread holding it together but have no fear. The cord is a blend of fibers containing love, curiosity, grace, non judgment, and a tiny dose of don’t take it all too seriously.

I have laughed. I have cried. Who knew a book from this powerhouse star would be the first steps out of my grief. Download the supplement pdf. Seriously, just try it. It will change you.

And Ms. Chenoweth if you read this thank you, for every thing. From the bottom of my heart.

Not what I expected…better!!

I thought I was getting a memoir by Ms. Chenowith, but it was actually a guidebook with personal stories included. If you are looking for something inspirational and motivational, this is your book. I listened with Audible and I think it must only add to the experience with her actual voice speaking to you. I will be buying the paper copy, though, so I can easily reference. This is the PERFECT gift for anyone with graduating seniors. It’s not preachy, but sends you on your way with the best advice.

Just what I needed to hear.

Honestly? I’ve been going through some things. I’ve gotten at least 10 different books based on friends’ recommendations this year, and they’re all pretty good, but I haven’t finished a single one. But this one was so good. It was so easy to listen to little bits at a time in between a hectic mom life, and I just wanted to hear more! I’m so glad Kristin read it herself for the audible. That made it that much more authentic. You can tell she really poured herself into this book. 🙏

Tastefully deep!

Kristin may not “be a philosopher” but she puts simply some very complex philosophical thoughts. This is part of her gift. Taking big grand ideas and making them easy to grasp, so all can understand. Fantastic book!
