About this listen

Nineteen years after defeating the Dark Father, Maggie has begun searching for the band of werewolves who are the source of her lycanthropy. She knew them to be vile beasts, but not even what she believed to be true could prepare her for the horror of what they have done, and will do again...if she doesn’t stop them.

Loved it

This is the second book in the Immortal Trilogy and while I absolutely loved the vampires in the first book, I love werewolves even more. We join our friends 19 years later. Our baby has graduated and his parents are concerned for his future. So one changes him.Together they fight the evil doers of the Vampire race, along with their Vampire co habitants. The narrator is not terrible either but i didnt care too much for her male characters. Still loved the story though!

Unrealistic [immortality] expectations!

The Dark Father had been defeated at the conclusion of the previous volume. Alexandria Robinson (Alex) is found in the forest by Maggie, her son Gardner, and her husband David. Maggie and her son are werewolves, David a vampire, tracking Mother and her clan. A recap of the prior volume is given in the prologue. Alex then relates the account of her captivity at the hacienda by Mother, the leader of the werewolves. Background tales of Randal and Anthony followed. Maggie, Gardner, David, and Alex return to Pennsylvania in their RV, the Zephr. Another side story having nothing to do with the plot; Corpse-boy the immortal zombie receives a short vignette as he meets a new friend, Scott. Our band of good paranormals prepares for battle. Gardner helps Alex protect herself by training in weapons which will come in handy later. Maggie and Gardner return to infiltrate the hacienda, under the guise of lone wolves looking for a pack, to gather information about Mother and her pack. The ultimate goal of course is to destroy Mother’s pack. With our band being outnumbered it is a toss-up whether this will be successful. Randal is still out there and a loose end in the story, as is corpse-boy. There may be more information to these loose ends, plus some new and interesting characters, but then, there’s always the next volume to consider. Great story

Vampires and werewolves are not generally my thing when it comes to books, but I loved this series. The cast of characters and their love and loyalty really kept me invested in the story. To be honest, the narrator's voice grated on my nerves a bit, but I stuck it out and it eventually grew on me.

Worthy sequel

Ok, so I am liking the author and story. No complaining there. But this narrator was so bad I looked up to see if it was AI. Distracting from story, which is quite good

Book Two: Werewolves

I enjoyed the second book in this trilogy. While the first focused on vampires, this one allowed the werewolves to step up and show us what they're all about.

Just as they did in the first book, I loved the stories for Randall and corpse boy. They'll forever be my favorites!

Regarding the narration, a few characters spoke very slowly and sounded robotic, which took me out of the story at times. One example would be Antony. He might not have had as big a role in this book, but he didn't sound like the old, wise leader of this group that he did in the first book.

Overall a good story that nicely sets up what's about to happen in the third and final book. Can't wait!

My absolute top favorite series

I have immensely loved this entire series from book 1 through book 2 and can't wait for book 3 and hopefully I will soon get to listen to book 3 it's full of vampires, werewolves, magic, and even a corpse boy and souch more and i can't believe that I found this book and was given the opportunity to review it in exchange for my honest feedback. I defefintly pay the going rate or whatever is required if neccessary inorder to listen to this series and any future books !! The only down side if i had to say is i believe the narrator from book 1 isn't the same the narrator and might not be the best of the two but still is good in this book just not for the male voices like the part where the narrator speaks as the character Anthony there isn't any accent or real personality and it's aggravating because book 1 distinctively showed us how his voice was and this narrator does the men's vpices so mono that sometimes i don't know if it's s girl or guy but other than that I think it's phenomenal.
