About this listen

Joined in a battle for survival, a broken-winged angel and a shapeshifter huntress with a bloody past form a bond that may change their world.

Alone since her father's murder, Aurora has spent years hunting his killers. Battle-weary she's ready to start over where no one knows who or what she is, she just has one last mission to complete. Everything is going to plan until she discovers the beautiful winged girl caged underground.

Her decision to rescue Evie and to help her get home safely, despite avians being infamous for selling out shapeshifters like Aurora to cutters and black-market flesh dealers, will put her on a perilous path.

As the women travel together their attraction grows but Aurora is guarding her lonely heart almost as much as her dangerous secrets and Evie is struggling to accept how important Aurora has become to her.

When their enemies conspire to kill them, they may be each other's only hope. Aurora is powerful but she's also emotionally scarred and it will be up to Evie to save her from herself and to fight for them or innocent people will die along with the guilty ones and Aurora will disappear from Evie's life forever.

Contains mature themes.

I loved the personality and the reader was amazing and managed to do a great job giving a lot of energy and personality to the characters. It is overall a very simple savior to lovers story that follows the tropes to a T so dont come here looking for a unique and innovative experience but it is a fun sexy romp you'll probably enjoy a lot if you don't think too hard

Fun and well performed but not a masterpiece

I wasn't really a fan of this genre, but this work changed my view. Beautifully written, chilling, heartwarming, sensuous. Loved it. Perfect pairing of Noon and Craden.

Enchanting

To date, I’ve listened to over a 100 audible books and this is the first time I’ve felt compelled to give a review. I’m usually weary and stray away from fantasy lesfic. Perhaps it’s an inaccurate and unfair comparison, but ever since I’d read the Harry Potter series as a child, the entire fantasy genre bar is set with some pretty high standards. After reading the reviews, the fact that it was being narrated by Abby Craden, and the length of it (I love a good long book) I decided to give it a try. The writing/dialogue between the characters was exceptionally good and allowed me to paint a good picture of the scenery and different creatures in my minds eye. I found there was a bit of everything I love in a story: feelings I can relate to, adventure, a bit of darkness, romance, & most importantly laugh-out-loud humor. I love when I find myself suddenly being curiously stared at by others when I’m caught off guard by what I’m listening to, seemingly to have just started laughing at nothing. I remember at least 3 times this happened while listening to this book. The way in which the book was left with some unanswered questions leaves me to believe there will be a sequel and I hope it turns into many more.

Fantastic narrator and performance! A wonderful story with a great world creation. Very few inconsistencies. Wonderful characters with an equally wonderful story.

This was so good! I loved all the hidden clues on what Auroras beasts are! I honestly could listen to it all over again!!! Great writing, and witty! The two main characters were well described so I had a good idea on what they look like and move like! I need to go listen to more books by Emily Noon!

Incredible!!!

Wow, I’ve read a lot of books and this has to be one of my new favorites! The world that was created was so detailed and magical. Truly an immersive experience. Every character had a detailed background that made you care differently about each person. And the romance was out of this world. It was balanced so perfectly with the action scenes. Please please please make a sequel! Would love to see what happens next with Aurora and Evie!!

Fantasy Romance at its BEST

This is mine and my girlfriends new favorite book! Great Great listen and will for sure listen again. Absolutely cannot wait for the next! And Abby Craden is by far the BEST narrator so far. I have a hard time with other narrators after listening to Abby. This book is a MUST listen!

If this is Emily Noon's first book, she knocked it right out of the park. Great story, well defined characters that I couldn't help but love from the outset and a story that kept my interest for hours as I really wanted to see where things were going. The cherry on top was having Abby Craden narrating. Abby is a pro at bringing characters to life and making me want to root for them, defend them and love them. Great job, Emily. Looking forward to your next book.
