Publisher's summary

The signs are everywhere... disastrous world events. Evil rising up, unleashed upon the innocent. The prophecies were there... but no one listened. Until now. The time has come for those who can either usher in Doomsday...or prevent it. They are here. They ride. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Arik Wagner, a soldier with the U.S. Army's paranormal unit, the R-XR, kissed a girl and liked it. And then he went to hell as punishment. Where he's spent weeks being tortured... and plotting revenge.

Limos, Horsewoman of the Apocalypse, isn't your average girl. She's immortal, dangerous, and her fiancé is Satan himself. In a moment of weakness, she gave in to her desire and kissed Arik, triggering her fiancé's wrath - and his claim on her. In order to save Arik, and the world, Limos must make a dangerous pact with her recently turned evil brother, Pestilence. A deal that might just cost her her soul...and her heart.

great listen

Hillary Huber does wonderful voices that bring the characters to life. Her narration enhances the dry humour in the story as well as defines the various personalities.

Arik & Limos-Fabulous story

BOOK 2 and still Ione has got a GREAT story.
Arik & Limos, GREAT love story...I love how Arik progresses into the supernatural gradually and it helps the story be believable...yes, I get caught up in these stories and for that few hours I am lost in their world and I enjoy EVERY minute!

WHAT A BOOK!!!

This one had me on the edge of my seat practically every chapter, and lets just say if I didn't have to work, I would have stayed up all night for this one! So much happened in this book that I had a really hard time putting it down, not to mention sleeping even after I did put it down! :)

While I enjoyed Ares's story, I enjoyed Limos's even more! While the horsemen are still trying to search for the item that could break Limos's seal, she is also faced with her past lies that are coming back to haunt her and the fact that she is is promised to the devil himself, who is looking to cash in. In the midst of everything, she ends up falling for Arik Wagner, former solder and now ally to the horsemen. Together they go through a lot, and you begin to wonder if it will make or break them.

In addition to Limos, Thanatos faces his seal possibly breaking as he is betrayed by the very people he thought were his allies, the Aegis, or was he? Larissa sets up the next book very well, and I also liked that this book gave you more different points of view unlike the last one. It helps in a lot of ways to understand where everyone is coming from and most likely giving you clues.

The narration also definitely improved since the last one. Hillary's different voices are very good, allowing you to get who is who when talking, and she didn't get as quite as she did in Eternal Rider. It does make me nervous that they change to a different narrator in the next book...but here I go! :)

VT. FAN

Where does Immortal Rider rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I WOULD RANK THIS IN THE TOP20. IN FACT THE ENTIRE DEMONICA SERIES AUDIOBOOKS WHICH IS THE PRELUDE TO THE LORDS OF DELIVERANCE SERIES ARE ALSO VERY WELL DONE.

Which character – as performed by Hillary Huber – was your favorite?

HILLARY HUBER DOES BOTH MALE AND FEMALE CHARACTERS VERY WELL SO LIMOS AND ARIK ARE THE FAVORITE.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

BOTH BUT THE BEST THING IS THAT WHEN ITS DONE YOU ACTUALLY MISS THE CHARACTERS.

Any additional comments?

THE DEMONICA AND LORDS OF DELIVERANCE SERIES ARE WORTH EVERY PENNY. AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Riding with War.

So far a good spin off from the Demonica series. Larissa has created a great world with both good and evil. It is very vivid in my mind. I love the animals in the story. Plus it had the added benefits of bringing the characters from Demonica into the stories, we get to find out about Keenan and Gem's baby. Towards the end the sex was slightly rougher than I like. I'm defiantly going to read the remaining books. At this point I will probably read everything Larissa Ione has written. Hillary Huber narrated the second book in the Demonica series which I thought she did a good job, but I think she does an even better job this time around.

Enjoyed the first one more; this one's still good

This book actually started at the end of the first one. Though the first part of this book recaps what happened during the last part of the previous book, I'd encourage you to read them in order. It'll give you a better idea about what's happening, why and who the characters are.

Regarding the actual story, it's good, but not as good as the previous. This one starts to go in depth on some of the side characters and organizations that are involved and it kind of all gets muddled. Or it did to me. I'd rather focus on the main characters and worry less about the machinations of separate entities that are only somewhat relevant. However, by the end of the book, I did see the tie in to all the side stuff and that will lead us into the 3rd book nicely.

For me, the taste of the 3rd book was the most enticing part of this book. But again, it's worth the read just not my favorite.

Favorite so far

What did you love best about Immortal Rider?

That one of warrior horsemen is actually a woman who has to find a way out of her contract to be satan's bride.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Limos, she has a alot of issues to conquer :-)

Which character – as performed by Hillary Huber – was your favorite?

Well this is my issue with Larissa's books, I am not a fan of constantly changing narrators. Some narrators are better then others and it does effect the quality of story. I do feel Hillary is one of the better narrators for the books, my one issue really is that alot of her male voices some too much alike and sometimes its hard to tell who is talking between Kian, Reever and Arik

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yeah they are interesting, I alway want to listen to books in one sitting....block out 3 screaming children ;-)

Any additional comments?

I recommend going through Demonica series first

I listen to Ione's books on my way to and from work (40mins each way), I sometimes wish that my commute was longer.
