About this listen

Deception. Risk. Betrayal. Redemption. Master storyteller Scott Westerfeld is at the top of his game, and back to his most famous realm.

Frey and Rafi are inseparable.... two edges of the same knife. But Frey's very existence is a secret. Frey is Rafi’s twin sister - and her body double. Their powerful father has many enemies, and the world has grown dangerous as the old order falls apart. So while Rafi was raised to be the perfect daughter, Frey has been taught to kill. Her only purpose is to protect her sister, to sacrifice herself for Rafi if she must.

When her father sends Frey in Rafi’s place as collateral in a precarious deal, she becomes the perfect impostor - as poised and charming as her sister. But Col, the son of a rival leader, is getting close enough to spot the killer inside her. As the deal starts to crumble, Frey must decide if she can trust him with the truth... and if she can risk becoming her own person.

With Impostors, master storyteller Scott Westerfeld returns with a new series set in the world of his mega-bestselling Uglies - a world full of twist and turns, rebellion and intrigue, where any wrong step could be Frey’s last.

Wonderful performance enhances entertaining story

Performance makes or breaks an audible book. Really enjoyed Therese Plummer’s reading of Scott Westerfeld’s enjoyable book.

Westerfeld does it again!

If you're a fan of Westerfeld, you won't be disappointed. You can't go into it expecting it to be like Uglies, but if you enjoyed Uglies, you'll enjoy this as well. Therese Plummer does a good job, no complaints here :)

AMAZING

I LOVED THIS! Amazing story.. I enjoyed it even more than the original Uglies series. The narrator was fantastic, and really added a lot of value to the listener experience. I really admired how her vocal tone varied throughout the story evoking the emotion of each character. it was absolutely spectacular and I cannot wait for book two!

The best book I've bought since Extras!

Scott Westerfield out did himself again! If you loved the world of his Uglies series, but want more action, espionage, and characters to fall in love with, this book is for you! Its read time is a bit shorter than the more average 10 hour audiobooks coming out, but Scott more than makes up for it with sheer quality of writing. He leaves no fluff at all on any page!

Pronounciation is key it seems

I'm a die hard fan of the original series. Right down to the language Mr Westerfeld created.
Although the narrator of this book is quite good. You can tell she did not listen to The originals.
One of the elephants was Litlies... We all know it should be said as "Lit-lees" well she says "Little- ies" . The first time my ear heard it, I cringed.
If you can get passed that.... It's a very good addition to the original series. We are still left very much missing the tail spinning antics of Tally, but it's a good stand alone if you can make yourself stop hoping for the original. Hopefully Westerfeld can get back his zing. If not, it's okay. The original is so epic it's hard to recreate. .... Although a hold hope he still can.

not uglies, but very kick

I forgot how much I loved this spin-off series! whenever I think of the uglies trilogy, I always think of, you know, the uglies trilogy. but this series is so good! it's only 4/5 stars 'cause 1) spin off & 2) you do need to read the originals to get a handle of this universe. idk if some random would get it.

OMG Scott Westerfeld, write more books immediately!

As a big fan of the first four books in the Uglies series, I was not disappointed by Imposters in the least. My only frustration is that I'm left hanging on a cliff. I will definitely be checking out the next one. For anyone who liked this, the Zeros series is also a good read.
