About this listen
This book contains proven steps and strategies on how to improve brain, function, memory and consciousness, which are examined through the lens of neuroscience and neuroplasticity. It contains an end-to-end analysis of strategies improving brain's functionality with respect to age, brain capacity and health. Additionally, it puts forward that while having poor memory is exceptionally normal, particularly in older people, you ought to be concerned in the event that it begins hindering your typical regular exercises. Research in this area leads to obvious causes of memory loss such as Alzheimer's, Huntington's and Parkinson's diseases.
Noticeably, achieving an optimum brain function, memory and consciousness is hard to attain, but it can be honed and it can be learned if you have the determination. This book contains an in-depth analysis of life-style based techniques, "natural" remedies and foods that boost our memory. In addition, this book hunts down answers on the consciousness debate by looking at how to remold your brain with neuroplasticity.

Story
Have you wondered why some 60-year-olds look and feel like 40-year-olds and why some 40-year-olds look and feel like 60-year-olds? While many factors contribute to aging and illness, Dr. Elizabeth Blackburn discovered a biological indicator called telomerase, the enzyme that replenishes telomeres, which protect our genetic heritage. Dr. Blackburn and Dr. Elissa Epel's research shows that the length and health of one's telomeres are a biological underpinning of the long-hypothesized mind-body connection.

Consciousness is our gateway to experience: it enables us to recognize Van Gogh’s starry skies, be enraptured by Beethoven’s Fifth, and stand in awe of a snowcapped mountain. Yet consciousness is subjective, personal, and famously difficult to examine: philosophers have for centuries declared this mental entity so mysterious as to be impenetrable to science. In The Ravenous Brain, neuroscientist Daniel Bor departs sharply from this historical view, and proposes a new model for how consciousness works.

Story
Our thought lives have incredible power over our mental, emotional, and even physical well-being. In fact, our thoughts can either limit us to what we believe we can do or release us to experience abilities well beyond our expectations. When we choose a mindset that extends our abilities rather than placing limits on ourselves, we will experience greater intellectual satisfaction, emotional control, and physical health. The only question is... how?

You've probably seen it before: a human brain dramatically lit from the side, the camera circling it like a helicopter shot of Stonehenge, and a modulated baritone voice exalting the brain's elegant design in reverent tones... to which this book says: Pure nonsense.

Another book ruined by poor narration
I don't think I've ever heard a worse narrator. I must be a masochist because this was 3 hours of torture. He sounds like Ben Stein in Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Maybe I can talk my ex-husband into listening to it while he's driving thereby falling asleep at the wheel and going over a cliff.

Terrible narrator
Sorry but I could not finish it. The narrator has a terrible voice and pauses all the time. I could follow the reading and lost attention due to the narration.
