I really enjoyed this story, though the perp was a little predictable to me. The narration was good but not great. There were times I think the narrator forgot what the sheriff's voice was supposed to sound like and he sounded a little off. Altogether a really good read though.

Would you listen to Impulse again? Why?

yes, this is a mystery and Romance, I was in a hurry to figure out the plot and may have missed some clues. This is a romance novel with a mystery so if you do not like romance, then this is not for you. If you like Sandra Brown, Hello Darkness, then you should like this story. This had a different plot line for me and I did enjoy it as it was not the same old story so many books today are telling.

What did you like best about this story?

I am a new fan of author JoAnn Ross, of the download Audible, No Safe Place is the best so far, Blaze second. I liked this sample/ story, and took a chance on this new reader. Thrillers are not my fave, but this was well written. The author did not have to spell out every little detail. She left some of the details to your imagination. I do not like wordy stories and this was an example of that type of writing.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

some of the reviewers were a bit hard on Ms Ross, if you want a true crime novel, then do not look in the romance section. If you are a fan of Sandra Brown, then please do try these stories and I do believe you will get hooked as I did.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

this is a good narrator, lots of different voices. The only draw back for me was Will our hero could have had a deeper voice. Susan Deneker did a great job on her 2 stories read by this author.
