Exceptional time-travel, historical romance...

with a wonderful, sexy, Scottish narrator. The ending was a bit frustrating, but still HEA.

Excellent!

I listen to this series out of order and it doesn't matter what order it's in it's still one of the best reads I've had in a long time.

Amazing Story

Where does In the Kingdom's Name rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Amy Jarecki is one of my favorite authors. I have to be honest at first I didn't want to listen to this 2 book series. I just couldn't imagine how Amy would bring the real William Wallace to life and fall in love with Eva MacKay who has traveled back in time to write his story. I couldn't get past Wallace's destiny. But I decided to give it a try and I will never regret it. William and Eva's love story endures so much heartache and romance and I began to hope that somehow William would escape his destiny and history would be rewritten, but of course that wasn't possible. I wasn't expecting the ending and I was so thrilled how Amy brought the series to a close. It was amazing.
Dave Gillies is amazing as ever and when he sings......

Full of emotion and adventure. Loved it!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this story! I loved the book and decided to check out the audiobook. Dave Gillies brings to life the second half of this series. His vocal distinctions made it easier to know who was talking and the emotions they were experiencing. As for the story: Eva was such a strong woman that I loved her. Her devotion to William was unflappable even when she wanted to distance herself. William was honorable, chivalrous, caring toward his people, and quite willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for his country. There are some smiles, some tears, and a lot of tense action.

I received a copy of this audiobook as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.

Time Travel with William Wallace 💕

This is book 2 in this series and is a must listen for anyone who loves Scottish history. This is a well written, fast paced epic time travel love story that is filled with descriptive characters and an engaging plot. I appreciate how the author was very respectful of the history of William Wallace while adding some imaginative scenarios that are both interesting and unique. I especially enjoyed the ending.

The narration by Dave Gillies was very well done. 😊

I recommend this series for those who enjoy midevel time travel love stories. Oh and This book is more for adults as it has some sex scenes and language.

Loved the story. Perfect ending for book two.

There had better be a book three. You can not write 2 books about characters like that and a love story as such without continuing.
It would be cruel to leave your audience hanging. Please let us know about book three. Waiting anxiously for the next one. Please do not disappoint us. You have me hooked. Alwaus use Dave Gillies to narrate your stories. His voice is what makes your stories come to life. So realistic and sexy. Could not get any better.

TOTALLY AMAZING -- A POWERFUL STORY

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Amy Jarecki is one of my favorite auto-pick authors. When coupled with Dave Gillies talent, they create a powerful experience.

What does Dave Gillies bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Intensified emotion, anguish and passion, not totally appreciated with the read. However, I also read the book about a year ago. Loved it so much, wanted to listen to the audio.

Any additional comments?

Audio and Book Review: a marvelous, enthralling listen, written by Amy Jarecki, narrated by Dave Gillies

I read this book about a year ago, and loved it so much—one of my favored stories penned by Amy Jarecki. The audiobook only intensified those feelings. Where I shed tears in the read, I was all out bawling in the listen. This one wrung and twisted my heart so many times, there were chapters I had a hard time reading for all the tears, but with the listen I was a total puddle!

Narrator Dave Gillies brings out all the emotion and terrifying moments making the reader experience the anguish faced by these men of history who had very short lifespans as compared to today. I enjoy listening to a book I’ve already read, not the other way around. I also prefer some time pass before I pick up the audio. I know what the story is about, but don’t remember the specifics of the story as clearly. I encourage you, dear reader, to use the great deal Amazon.com has for you. If you purchase the book, the audiobook with Audible.com is only $1.99. Another great feature: If you want to reread the book at the same time as listening to it, you can. When you want to pick up the audio later, with your Bluetooth, you’re set while doing mundane tasks.

To be caught up in a greater cause, the freedom of the Scottish people, William Wallace gave it his all. He was a powerful man, very spiritual, led with his heart and intellect, but also understood his failings. Here is a man who stands above the ordinary. He willingly martyrs himself for the life of Scotland. Author Jarecki has written so profoundly the plight of the man entangled with his hope for his people, it wrenches the emotions.

With all the passion this man had for his country, Ms. Jarecki further entices the reader with time travel, total, crazy love which should not even be considered and finally hope when this reader can hardly continue.

If you are a fan of Ms. Jarecki, this is her best. If you are a fan of medieval times, this one shouldn’t be missed. If you are of fan of love with pure sacrificial acceptance — do not—I say, do not let this one pass you by. If there were greater than 5 stars on the ratings, this one, dear reader, is one which surpasses the lot. Amen!

Perfect follow up to Book 1

In this sequel to William Wallace’s life and his love of Eva, Amy Jarecki’s story takes one to the depth of despair and great sorrow. Knowing the outcome and fate of William Wallace makes the love story more poignant and unbearable until the author brings us back into the light by resurrecting Wallace in the 21st century.

Dave Gillies is the perfect narrator to pull this off. He imbues the characters with perfect intonations and voices. His impersonation of Wallace is superb.
