About this listen

Havana, Cuba. December 1958. Two brothers find themselves on opposite sides of Castro’s revolution. One dark night, after rescuing a leader of the revolt under house arrest, one brother finds himself hunted. The other, an influential attorney, must make a choice. Help his brother, placing the whole family at risk, or let Batista’s forces capture him. His decision will haunt them both for the rest of their lives. How far will we go to protect those we love? Based on a true story, Incident at San Miguel takes us there.

Great story, but not performance

Sorry, the story was great and the writing, too, but should have gotten a fluent bilingual person for the reading, Spanish accent was horrible, even his English was mispronounced!

Bad narrator

The story was interesting but the narrator was bad: couldn't pronounce Spanish well at all.

History not a story

So disappointed bt this book. It read like a historical text. I could not connect with characters or truly care about them.

Great book a must read!!

This is a great book I stayed until the ending it was my favorite book. The beginning had me thinking how can anyone feel that way about Castro. I lessoned until the end it was worth it! The truth about Castro come out at the end and the horrible effects tore families apart, not to mention the food scarcities. Castros communism also affected my family in a very negative manner. I am glad my grandma and grandpa came to USA in the 1959!
