Publisher's summary

This book was written for dads to learn how to create a positive influence in their 21st-century daughter’s life.

I wrote this book for dads because I have firsthand experience of having a dad who encouraged me to be my best self. I know, without any doubt, that dads have a very critical role in their daughter's life. Moreover, when dads play an active role in their daughter’s life, these women are:

  • Less likely to get in trouble with the law
  • More likely to have relationships that are emotionally intimate and fulfilling
  • Less likely to become clinically depressed or to develop eating disorders
  • More satisfied with their appearance and their body weight
  • More likely to have better physical and financial health
  • More likely to graduate from college and enter higher paying jobs

These are just a few powerful statistics that highlight how much value dads contribute to their daughter’s life. However, what I found unique about these studies is that they all were unclear about the specifics of what it takes to be a positive father figure. While this may be surprising, there aren't many step-by-step guides that tell dads what exactly they need to do to impact their daughter’s life. And that is my inspiration for writing this book.

To help dads create that level of influence and to be the dad you want to be, this book is broken up into three sections:

  • Section 1: How you can develop and create a radical influence in your daughter’s life
  • Section 2: Your road map for empowering your daughter
  • Section 3: Thriving in your father-daughter relationship

Since 2016, I've been coaching women of all ages, religions, races, professions, and backgrounds. I have a deep understanding of what goes through a woman's mind in the early, mid, and late stages of her career and life. Not only do I work with women who have high ambitions and want to create an impact in their own life (and their family's), but I also have a front-row seat into knowing what they want to achieve and what they're up against because I'm also in the same boat. The difference is that, thanks to my dad, I was brought up to be brave, take calculated risks, ask for help when I need it, and use my voice.

Here's one thing I've learned from working with thousands of 21st-century women: Being an ambitious woman is both a blessing and a curse.

Ambitious women desire to achieve everything they set their minds to, and they are very capable of that. Yet modern women face many factors that get in their way, including themselves. Many of the women I work with struggle to slow down, set boundaries, ask for a raise, negotiate at work, communicate their needs at home and in the workplace, and deliberately choose friendships and relationships that properly support them.

The reason why I wrote this book specifically for dads is that dads can help change this narrative.

Every girl dad should read this… twice

No, three times! I have two daughters and a sister who probably should read it too. Love it.
