Publisher's summary

Kaylee knows art, friendship, and love. And because she’s known love, she wants nothing to do with it ever again. She likes her life just the way it is. Her art and her Brushes with Lushes classes keep her sane and happy.

Landon spends his days with numbers and financial spreadsheets. At night, he just wants to relax, but the only way he can do that is with a woman. But these days, not just any woman will do.

Kaylee and Landon do an excellent job of dancing around each other. But no matter their own personal hang-ups or how much desire burns between them, they’ll need to make a choice: life as they know it, or a life that could be so much more.

Author Note: Ink by Numbers is a Montgomery Ink short story and a little different than what you’re used to from me. It’s shorter than my other novellas at only 15,000 words. It has a complete HEA and is perfect for a steamy evening, one-sitting listen.

good addition to this series

This was a super short book that worked for these two supporting characters in this series. Kaylee and Landon had been dancing around their feelings for each other for a while and it was nice to finally see the pair get their HEA. The had chemistry that they both were trying to ignore as well as underlying issues with their family. Since the pair made appearances in all of the other books of this series it was nice to catch a glimpse as to what was happening with them.
The narration by Joe Arden in the audio version on this book was performed well and was enjoyable to listen to. I would recommend this book as well as the others in this series to others.

Short and Sweet!

Big thanks to Carrie Ann Ryan for giving us this book. I wanted to know what was going to happen with Kaylee and Landon and she of course delivers. My favorite thing about reading/listening to her books is that you do get to see everyone's story in time. I'm glad I waited because their story was perfect, you get to watch it build in the other books in the series with little snippets here or there then you get this gem and you finally get to see them together and it is awesome!!

I do hope we get a short story from them eventually. I would love to see her mom react to Landon.

Joe Arden is again sexy and hot!

Novellas are fun

It was nice to revisit the Montgomery's in the ink series. I've listed to most all of them. If your a fan of them, or Joe Arden, this is for you. It's only an hour so it's great to listen to it on the go~

Ink by Numbers

This is book 3.5 of the Colorado Springs Series. Kaylee is from a wealthy socialite family, she married her first husband to please her mother but quickly realized that nothing would please her mom and it was time to live her life for her own happiness. Now she runs her own art studio and has monthly Brushes with Lushes classes and is joined by all the Montgomery women and their friends.
Landon is friends with the Montgomery's as well as with Kaylee. They have been circling each other for over a year. They weren't ready for a relationship then, and the whole group thinks that they are already a couple, but now they might not have a choice anymore as their chemistry is going to get the best of them.
This was the best couple to cap the Colorado Springs series with. The book is more of a novella, but its smooth and sweet, with barely any drama. A slow burn right to home plate.

As always the audio performance by Joe Arden was phenomenal. He’s one of my favs and I always feel that his voice just fits all the Montgomery books so well.

Kaylee and Landon

This was a relatively quick short story, featuring two characters who have appeared throughout the Colorado Springs series, Kaylee and Landon. They’ve been interested in each other in the other stories but in this book, we get to know them better and find out how they really feel about each other. It was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster and for such a short book it certainly had a lot packed into it.

Kaylee is a divorcee she has a privileged family background but having turned her back on it years ago is considered a disappointment by her mother. She is an artist who has known love but doesn't want anything to do with again she loves her life just the way it is.

Landon, is a numbers man during the day, at night he relaxes by spending time with women and has his eye on someone special she's independent, beautiful, and sassy you've guessed it it's Kaylee. They are great characters who keep dancing around each other, they are close friends but could they be something more?

I could say more but that would involve spoilers which I don't want to do, what I will say is that I really loved this one, I liked both the characters and the way Carrie Ann built their story. The narration was excellent and brought the characters to life beautifully.

I was given this audiobook as a gift and am voluntarily writing my review.
