About this listen

One of the greatest threats to mankind's existence has become a reality. The Yellowstone Caldera erupts with a force of a thousand nuclear warheads, expelling seven hundred cubic miles of ash and rock all at once into the sky. And it's not finished . . .

When Marty and her brother, Ben, relocate with their family from Los Angeles to a small town in Nebraska, the transition isn't easy. Because they are in high school, their mother believes sending them away for a week to camp might help them make friends.

Marty reluctantly agrees and they go to the camp in Wyoming.

They are there only a couple of days when the eruption happens.

At the edge of the kill zone with no communication or evacuation help in sight, Marty and Ben have no choice but to leave if they want to survive.

On foot, they begin the long journey that will take them across the ash strewn countryside flooded with desperate survivors and dangerous conditions.

With temperatures plummeting and another eruption looming, can they make it to safety in time? If, of course, a safe place even exists.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Jacqueline “Dooms Day” Druga does it again!

Although this isn’t my favorite book, it was still so imaginative & the narration was good.

I loooved the character Ben.

slow to start but amazing

Once you got past the narrator's voice and speed in which she talked it was an amazing story of family and sticking together.

Good Story

Although the story was somewhat short, the characters were pretty well developed and there wasn’t a lot of unnecessary filler. I liked that the teenage characters weren’t the typical dumb teens that constantly buck authority and have an attitude. There is some action, but if you are looking for a lot of intense action, this isn’t it. The narration was good and there were distinct voices for each character.

Story line good.

Too optimistic and flawed. Author needed to do more research. Last Yellowstone eruption caused 16 feet of ash to over 90% of the continental states. Fema and the army was to organized to be realistic.

A Major Letdown

I expect so much more from Jacqueline Druga. As a fan of her works, I am accustomed to far more character development as well as grouping storylines. This story was underwhelming and the characters bland. As the parent of an autistic son I appreciate the incorporation of a character on the spectrum, but found the character lacking depth.

Interesting but could use more

I liked this book but other reviews were right when they said there needed to be more character development. That being said, I would love another book about them surviving on the ranch after the volcanos

Yellowstone

Struggle to finish, should have more action and I just couldn't get into the characters. I went to Yellowstone and there couldn't of been more description in the story.

Amazing

This was such a great story. It had everything from the lows to the highs. In a matter of days you see the characters grow. I thoroughly enjoyed this!
