About this listen

Enter the woods...if you dare.

For centuries, the woods have been a pivotal part of the wonder and danger of fairy tales, for once you enter anything can happen. Elves, druids, fairies - who knows what you will find once you dare step into the forest?

And now, New York Times best-selling author Kim Harrison ventures into these mysterious, hidden lands of magic and mystery in her first short-story collection. Into the Woods brings together an enchanting mix of brand-new, never-before-published stories and tales from Harrison's beloved, best-selling Hollows series.

The tales here include an original Hollows novella, "Million-Dollar Baby", about Trent Kalamack's secret elven quest in Pale Demon; two original short stories, "Pet Shop Boys" and "Temson Woods," that explore just what happens when humanity and the supernatural collide; and two novelettes, "Spider Silk" and "Grace," set in new worlds of imagination and adventure. Into the Woods also contains all of the previously published Hollows short stories - together in one volume for the very first time.

Step into the woods and discover the magic for yourself.

Interesting short stories, some Twilight Zone ends

Entertaining, informative, enjoyed the Hollows shorts. Not fond of the way some of the stories have Twilight Zone type endings.

LOVE IT

What did you love best about Into the Woods?

We got to see more about the characters that we have grown to love.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Into the Woods?

For me it was when Al took Ceri. We really did not know that much about ceri and it was nice to know what happened before Rachel met her. I would like to know more about what she went through

What does Marguerite Gavin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Marguerite Gavin, really brings life to the characters. She adds a voice that helps the story in so many ways you feel as if you really know the characters.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

If you thought you knew the whole story.... You have no idea

GREAT background to The Hollows story lines.

Loved finding out what happens in the plots that you didn't get to read about in the actual stories. Great writing and I love the marvelous narration by Marguerite Gavin

Nice addition to the storyline.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend to any fan of the series. The stories help flesh out the overall storyline but would probably have been too distracting if included into the main books.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the Trent additons best I think. He's always something of a mystery and any extra info is nice. The one off stories unrelated to main storyline I did not enjoy as much, even though done well.

Which scene was your favorite?

I think Trent and Jenks "storming the castle" was my fave scene.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Elves and pixies and Banshees, oh my!

Just what we needed!

I usually don't go in for the short stories. I love these stories that fill in holes in the past. Exactly how Cerri was trapped by Al, Rachel sumoning Pierce the first time as a teenager, and the effect it had on her. A must read if you follow this series.

Added a lot to the series

First, read the series before this book! It is really not a stand alone book. This adds to the series filling in the gaps between stories and expanding on some of the stories you know. Some of the shorts in this book are really not so short at all but are novellas. I really enjoyed some of them and some were just meh, but Kim Harrison is a great writer and she delivers well with this collection.
