Story
In the hustle of modern technology it might seem odd to discover an angel surfing the Internet, but what an interesting paradox that would be. Here, in Andrew M. Greeley's fine tale of young love and faith, Toby Tobin considers the peculiar terms of his great-uncle's will. Ten million dollars, a required visit to Ireland, ending a Tobin family feud, and a request to court his eight cousin once removed, Sara Elizabeth Anne Tobin.

Cyril Avery is not a real Avery - or at least that's what his adoptive parents tell him. And he never will be. But if he isn't a real Avery, then who is he? Born out of wedlock to a teenage girl cast out from her rural Irish community and adopted by a well-to-do if eccentric Dublin couple via the intervention of a hunchbacked Redemptorist nun, Cyril is adrift in the world, anchored only tenuously by his heartfelt friendship with the infinitely more glamourous and dangerous Julian Woodbead.

Not as good as the Bishop series
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
I loved the Bishop goes books, but this book was not worth the price or my time. The story line and the characters had lots of potential but they never got close to their potential.
Would you ever listen to anything by Andrew M. Greeley again?
yes.

note to The Listener
there's a part of this book where they start alternating from regular sound to one that almost has an echo. when you listen pay close attention because this is done for an effect so you can distinguish between the present day people and those of the past. I found that quite clever once I figured it out but I had to replay the first section they do this in. if you're looking for a short listening that's a good book you'll find this one very to your liking I hope

Disappointed.
I was most disappointed that I missed the fact that this was an abridged version of the book. Too much necessary information was edited out. The story was confusing and difficult to follow.
