Till Death Do Us Part

Enjoying a rare break in his remote lochside cabin, DCI Bone suddenly finds himself cut off when the mother of all snowstorms hits the Campsie Fells. Intrigued by the flickering lights from one of the loch’s uninhabited islands, Bone commandeers a local boat and heads out across stormy waters to investigate.

There, amongst the island’s ancient Celtic gravestones, Bone makes a grisly, surreal discovery: a mutilated bride and groom, bound together in frozen union.

Unable to contact his team at Kilwinnoch Police Station and ill-prepared for the weather, Bone faces one of the most gruelling cases of his career, as he battles fierce elemental forces to catch an ingenious killer with a heart far colder than a Scottish winter.

Set among the dramatic hills and glens of Scotland's Campsie Fells, Isle of the Dead is the fifth book in the best-selling edge-of-your-seat Scottish crime series that will keep you guessing right up to the nail-biting, heart-stopping climax.

Perfect for fans of Ian Rankin, J.D. Kirk, Val McDermid and Stuart MacBride.

Book 5 does not disappoint

Well book 5 did not disappoint. This time DCI Bone is forced to take on a case out of his jurisdiction due to a heavy snow storm that has got him stuck away from home. When he discovers two victims on a remote island he immediately has to take on a mix bag of officers who are also snowed in. It is a race against time to find the killer who must still be on the island before they strike again and to work out what has happened to two people who were celebrating their honeymoon why would someone want to hurt them. This audio is a face paced thriller and well worth a listen/read.

Excellent

This fifth book in the DCIBone series was well worth waiting for. Great characters and a page-turning story. A bit gory toward the end but a good read/listen. Narration was first rate!

it's ok

I really tried to like this Author. But I get disappointed at some of the things that happen. They continue to be unprepared when they're visiting places or suspects and I can't believe ithe real scottish police would not have a go bag in their car that had a large Mag flashlight an all weather coat and Wellingtons plus other gear. When They're potagonist, revisits, the island and you know we're going to try to get into the bunker and he only has his phone. It just is really kind of unbelievable. That is the one scene that comes to my mind. The author continues to have these graphic victim death scenes inside warm cuddly family moments. I guess it's just a modern way of writing mysteries. The narration was good.
But the story could use some more authentic punch up in terms of procedure.
