Publisher's summary

A stolen child. A killer stalking the streets of Glasgow. A troubled detective running out of time.

Five years ago, DCI John Lomond led the search for notorious Glasgow child-killer ‘The Sandman', until personal tragedy forced him off the case.

In Lomond's absence, the killer was never found.

Now, with nothing but work left in his life, Lomond remains obsessed with the case–despite the nightmares it brings.

When a child is abducted in similar Sandman fashion from an affluent Glasgow suburb, Lomond is brought in to find them before it's too late.

But the only forensic evidence belongs to a little girl who was abducted and murdered twenty years ago.

Could the Sandman's identity lie buried in the coldest of cold cases? Or is a new killer about to claim their first victim?

The Bonnie Dead is the explosive debut Scottish crime thriller from Andrew Raymond–author of Amazon number one political thriller Official Secrets, which has now sold over 100,000 copies.

Shot through with dark Glaswegian humour and thrilling twists, he captures the voices of his beloved home city, taking you into its hidden depths, and the iconic hills and glens of nearby Loch Lomond and Arran.

If you like writers like JD Kirk, Ian Rankin, and Stuart MacBride, this addictive thriller will have you gripped until its haunting, heart-in-the-mouth climax.

It’s a Beast of a Crime.

Humans can commit the worst atrocities against the vulnerable. We need people who are capable of standing up to the beasts. This story is about those people who are prepared to do just that.

John Jack Logan…

Andrew Raymond is right up there with Stuart McBride and JD Kirk, although it doesn’t hurt with Angus King narrating, this book is not nearly as funny, but it has some funny, I enjoyed it, worth the credit 📘

Dark Side of Scotland

This was a compelling story line that ultimately was nearly impossible to have predicted, and darker than seems necessary. I enjoy the Glaswegian accent and references and found the narrator very good, but the conclusion felt disheartening.

Thrilled to find a new Scottish noir series

Having run out of the adventures of JD Kirk’s DCI Logan and Co., I am very excited about coming across this first book in another gritty yet darkly humorous series set in Scotland and read by Angus King, my all-time favourite narrator. I enjoyed the book a lot, despite a few parts, where are the story was a little convoluted, and I felt that there were too many characters crowding in, but I have high hopes that Raymond will settle in and find his groove. In fact, I already have the second book in the series, and I am looking forward to more of Andrew Raymond.
