About this listen

A stolen child. A killer stalking the streets of Glasgow. A troubled detective running out of time.

Five years ago, DCI John Lomond led the search for notorious Glasgow child-killer ‘The Sandman', until personal tragedy forced him off the case.

In Lomond's absence, the killer was never found.

Now, with nothing but work left in his life, Lomond remains obsessed with the case–despite the nightmares it brings.

When a child is abducted in similar Sandman fashion from an affluent Glasgow suburb, Lomond is brought in to find them before it's too late.

But the only forensic evidence belongs to a little girl who was abducted and murdered twenty years ago.

Could the Sandman's identity lie buried in the coldest of cold cases? Or is a new killer about to claim their first victim?

The Bonnie Dead is the explosive debut Scottish crime thriller from Andrew Raymond–author of Amazon number one political thriller Official Secrets, which has now sold over 100,000 copies.

Shot through with dark Glaswegian humour and thrilling twists, he captures the voices of his beloved home city, taking you into its hidden depths, and the iconic hills and glens of nearby Loch Lomond and Arran.

If you like writers like JD Kirk, Ian Rankin, and Stuart MacBride, this addictive thriller will have you gripped until its haunting, heart-in-the-mouth climax.

Humans can commit the worst atrocities against the vulnerable. We need people who are capable of standing up to the beasts. This story is about those people who are prepared to do just that.

It’s a Beast of a Crime.

I love Scottish crime novels. This is the first in what I hope will be a long series about DCI Lomond.

Great character development, good plot and wonderful narrator. I actually discovered this book via the narrator.

Angus King narrates the JD Kirk series as well. I've ripped through all of his thrillers, so searched for other novels with Angus as the narrator and viola!

Thrilled to add another favorite author.

Fabulous

Good story, great narrator, keeps your interest. Angus King fills the room with different people/voices.

Another great Angus King performance

Solid story with good twists that was also not overly graffic. Plus, you cannot beat Angus Young as narrator.

Solid story

So this story is very good. Problem is, I had a hard time understanding some of the Glasgow accent, I presume it is as that's where this is set. I feel I lost more of the story than I wish to admit. First audio book I've listened to with a Scottish accent. I know I missed part of the story due to the accent which I had some issues with.

Past that, It's a good story

My shortcomings reduced my enjoyment of this book
