About this listen
Explore the fascinating life of Jackie Kennedy!
Without a doubt, the name Jacqueline Kennedy draws multiple thoughts to mind. She is, perhaps, most well-known for her service as the first lady of the United States when her husband, John F. Kennedy, took office as the president, and for her role in restoring the White House. Then, of course, other people remember Jackie for her role in the fashion industry, particularly her pink Chanel suit and matching pillbox hat, which became symbols of her husband's assassination. Jackie is so renowned and beloved that she ranks as one of the most popular first ladies. In fact, Jacqueline was named, in 1999, in Gallup's list of Most Admired Men and Women in 20th century America. While she made major impacts on the White House, Jackie was much more than her title of first lady.
Some of the topics covered in this audiobook include:
- Childhood and early education
- College and early career
- The relationship with John F. Kennedy
- Motherhood
- Campaign for presidency
- First lady
- The Kennedy assassination
- Life following the assassination
- Ongoing iconic figure
- And a great deal more that you don't want to miss!

From the New York Times best-selling authors of America's First Daughter comes the epic story of Eliza Schuyler Hamilton - a revolutionary woman who, like her new nation, struggled to define herself in the wake of war, betrayal, and tragedy. In this haunting, moving, and beautifully written book, Dray and Kamoie used thousands of letters and original sources to tell Eliza's story as it's never been told before - not just as the wronged wife at the center of a political sex scandal but also as a founding mother who shaped an American legacy in her own right.

She was facinating lady and icon for us as well.
Pleasing profile with several particulars not formerly available about Jackie Kennedy. Fetching section with some excessive intuitions into life as a politician's wife, Kennedy family member, American sign and a lady of her time. She was an amazing female, recommended definitely.

Definitely not cutting edge
Some listeners may or may not be surprised by the unsophistication of literary taste reflected in this book, given the anthologist's background. The bigger problem is the fact that too many of us who actually read a lot of biographies don't feel the need to own repeats of same stuff that we read or listen in our early days of school....but hey, it all comes down to you.
Still a better book with the content provided but I feel the author needs more work on it next.

A new look at someone you thought you knew.
Jackie is, from start to finish, a narcissistic, spoiled rich kid. Even when she bemoans her lack of funds, she's still subsisting on $20,000 a month--and that was years ago. So although I find myself in sympathy for someone who needs to find herself, her own smug attitude kept me from too much empathy.
Still, I'm glad I read it. The author has done an amazing job of letting us glimpse the woman inside the public persona.

The author has given us much more than a lovely remembrance of her mom. Mrs. O is one of our legendary First Ladies; the collection of her favorite poems emerges as part of her legacy to America and to history. The more we read, the more we understand not only Mrs. O and her times, but ourselves as Americans. Many thanks.

She was queen and loving personality.
Indeed like listening to it, just finished, but will come back and listen to it again. She was an empress and she was a backstreet cat. Wouldn't want my man around her, wouldn't happen nevertheless since he's not a tycoon. She was very straight according to the author and I admit it.

Indeed a wonderful lady.
At first, it appeared like she was just a trapped up irritating girl when she was a young girl, but as she got older and later she had kids it seems like she altered into a very decent and kind soul, she did a lot of good while she was First Lady and subsequently.
