Publisher's summary

The author tells the truth about the impact of "new" people on a mountain resort. In this collection of fictional short stories, the listener will find insights and truths engendered by the modern invasion of "new folks" to glorious mountain enclaves now dubbed "resorts".

These acclaimed stories capture the truth, warts and all, of how modern life can both corrupt and enhance a traditional environment. Based on the author's experience as a long-time resident of this pristine valley in Wyoming nestled in the heart of the Grand Tetons, America's most beautiful mountain range.

Warren Adler is the Founder of the Jackson Hole Writer's Conference and the former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Jackson Public Library.

Not My Cup Of Tea

"I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request, via Audiobook Boom, and have voluntarily left this review."
This was a set of unrelated short stories centered in Jackson Hole. Some very short some with a plot that got me interested only to end just when it got interesting. I love westerns and was hoping that I would get modern-day westerns but that was not the case, The narrator was good though.

A collection of short stories

A collection of short stories about the people in one valley. A pleasant read, some of the stories were very good. There seemed to be nothing tying the stories together but the location.
First of Warren Adler's works I've read/listened to, I will be trying out some more.
CaptainJim Hammond's narration is clear and concise, easy to listen too.
I can recommend this as day off stress free reading.

Collection of Short Stories

Enjoyable listen. I was expecting a full story, not multiple short stories but I enjoyed none the less.

Short Storie set in Jackson Hole

Each short story would have been more enjoyable had they been used as an outline and taken further. This would have made a nice series with each story becoming a book of its own. I felt like I was just learning who the characters were and then the story would end.
I recieved this audiobook for free from the author or narrator in exchange of an honest review.

: ( Depressing

I don't like to pay $ to hear depressing stories. I like to be entertained, enlightened, enriched or uplifted. Too depressing for me.

Proud sister

So proud of Captain Jim Hammond on his debut performance! He did such a great job narrating the stories that at times I forgot I was listening to my brother. The intonations of his voice made the characters shine through as the stories progressed. The stories were interesting; however, on a few of them I felt cheated...I wanted to the stories to continue so I could find out more about the characters. Truth be told, I feel like this when I finish most books. It's a sign of a good read, you never want it to end.

Not what was advertised

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

A collection of short stories but not what was described in the overview. Wrong pronunciations of local names and other misinformation.
I wasted my money on this book.

Would you ever listen to anything by Warren Adler again?

Maybe

What didn’t you like about Captain Jim Hammond’s performance?

Wrong pronunciations of historical names of Jackson

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

A few stories were worth listening to

Any additional comments?
