About this listen

What's hotter than an alien with scales? An alien with wings and scales, not to mention a hot body.

At 457 Preor years old, Jarek sen Claron is a dragon ready for his final flight into the skies. This voyage to Earth as the War Master of the third fleet will be his final assignment. Once he has helped his fellow Preors secure human mates, he will return to Preor before the madness of loneliness overtakes his mind.

That all changes when he meets Melissa. Human Melissa with her sparkling eyes, bright smile, and body that would make any hot-blooded male drool. Unfortunately, she never registered as a Preor mate hopeful. No matter, the Knowing stretches between them and there is no way she can resist him. Until she does.

Jarek wishes to give her the choice to mate him, while everything inside him screams to take Melissa beneath his wing, now. No choosing necessary.

But should he draw her to his side when his enemies are circling? Many males do not believe the son of a Preor mass murderer deserves to have a mate. Can he survive the coming battles? Or will he die without tasting sweet Melissa's lips?

3.5 Stars

Celia Kyle is a favorite of mine. I enjoy her novels and this is another decent listen. I don't want the 3.5 stars to dissuade you from checking it out, it didn't get 5 stars based on technicalities. The story is good but it's not overly original. Let's face it, though, we don't always pick up a romance story because we're looking for something innovative. Sometimes you just want a good alpha male in whatever fantasy form you prefer - wolf, bear, alien, dragon, or in this case both an alien and a dragon. Jarek is a good alpha male. My bigger problem is that it was super short. I felt like I wanted to dig deeper and get more out of the novel. I wanted more tension and conflict as well as better explanations for some of the things going on.

The narration was good. There are two narrators and they alternate chapters. It is good in the sense that you don't ever really zone out on the book, a change in voice brings you back. I think I would have preferred, however, if they would have each read all of the male or female lines in one voice.

Overall, decent but not groundbreaking. I just would have liked a little more meat to the story.

woman of earth have new choices

Jarek War Master of Preor was not to find a mate, but there was always a higher being. One with alternative ideas. Simple nanny Melissa just wanted to see the stars from a different vantage point. She gets more with the full force of the knowing falling in her.

A new world were side by side with others the Earth take on a new direction.

Narrator duo did a fair job.

Interesting plot

The author has created and nice quick read. I really like Todd Mrozek but Mandy Lane didn’t connect with me.

It was a difficult start.

This is my first experience with this author and the Dragons of Preor series. The first few chapters are obviously pulled from the Ujal series so I don't think I got as much out of it as I could but by the end of the series I was excited to read more. The performances are excellent, Todd Mrozek is amazing and together with Mandy Lane the book comes alive. Give this book a chance you will be happy you tried it.

Wow!

I loved this story. I've read the book but it is so much better to hear the emotion in the voices.

Enjoyable listen

Enjoyed the story and the slow burn of the romance. I always like having two narrators, however the woman was better than the guy. Still worth the listen.

Yes, a quality light

This book is a Yes if you want light reading/listening with quality writing & editing. This is also a quality recording if you prefer audio. Very happy with both the male & female narrators.

Enjoyable

A good story. Unique and fast paced so it held my interest. I liked Jarek as a hero and found Melissa a worthy heroine (especially in the softball scene) but there was a more “telling” then I would have liked so while the book was good, it never really tugged on my heart strings.
I’m really narrator picky so the author did great with the 2 she selected. They gave great performances and brought the story to life.

Love these books.

I liked the narrators, but not having two. I have this series in ebook and love them. Having the in audio form so I can do other things is great.
