About this listen

Journey of the Heart is the journal written by 17-year-old Katie after she lost her teenage brother to suicide. These private, raw, and unedited pages of her journal are a companion for anyone who has been impacted by suicide. This book shows them they are not alone and there is hope.

What made the experience of listening to Journey of the Heart the most enjoyable?

Katie's raw and brave account of her four-year walk through grief inspired me. I felt honored to hear her read her work, and was privileged to listen to her intimate stories. At times I welled up with tears, others I laughed out loud. Through it all, I heard Katie say "I have chosen not to fight alone." I recommend this book to anyone pursuing a thoughtful life, whether or not they are facing loss at the moment.

Thanks for sharing your story of love for your brother Gabe, Katie. — This book wasn’t something I would normally listen to. I’m so glad I did. This helped me understand so much more about how someone copes and works through such an immense loss. I liked her stories of God, they made me smile happily. My thoughts while listening to her words often reminded me that help is all around us and all we need is ask. From her openness it is easy to be inspired by her gentle words and strong heart. I wish for all good things for her and everyone reading or listening.

Not my normal book, so glad I did.
