About this listen

Sebastian

Blood. Torture. Murder. They've been my only companions for centuries. I haven't needed or wanted anything else.

Until I see Matty smile. Then something in me, something that's been dormant for centuries, begins to reawaken.

Matty doesn't belong in my world. He's loving, innocent, and full of joy. The darkness of my life would corrupt him in a heartbeat, but when he's dragged into it against his will, nothing can stop me from delivering my personal brand of justice.

Matty keeps fighting for things I can't give him, for things I'm no longer capable of. I can't come between him and his family. I can't give him what he needs.

But I also can't stay away from him.

Matty

I'm surrounded by couples in love.

Once, I thought that'd be me, that I'd be swept off my feet and experience the kind of epic love you only see in movies. Now, I know better.

A horrific night taught me to look for other things in a partner. Someone predictable. Safe. Stable. Sebastian is anything but.

Everyone tells me to stay away from him, but I don't understand their concerns. How can he be a villain when all he's shown me is kindness?

He makes me want things I thought I'd given up on. Things I'm too scared to admit I still want.

The trouble is, I can't figure out what Sebastian wants. He tells me he can't say no to me, but he won't open up. He says to stay away from him, but he keeps coming around.

One thing is for sure, Sebastian is who I want in my future.

But how can I keep fighting for us if I'm the only one doing it?

Justice is an MM paranormal romance about a grumpy vampire assassin and the sunshine human he can't stay away from. The second in the Damned Connections series, each book will follow a different couple as they find their HEA. Although better listened to in order, these books can stand alone.

Matty and Seb

what a powerfully written book/story. I was in tears multiple times during my listen kudos to the author, you know it's good when such emotions are elicited. Loved the characters.

Awesome

I was happy to be able to read Matty's story after how much he was featured in volume 1. It was heart-wrenching at times, but also very sweet. There was foreshadowing about the next two couples, and I'm especially excited to read what happens in volume 4, expecting it to be about Danny, though there's no description yet. Can't wait to preorder it!

Love this series

This was a great continuation of the series. The story is well written and pulls at your emotions. The narration was spot on! Can’t wait for the next book.

I can't believe she made me cry !

Loved loved loved this LOVE story. This book in the series was an amazing surprise - I was expecting to like it of course , but not like this. There's less "end of the world" and more "love is healing" and it's not schmoopy!

first time reading this author and listening to Will and I need more of both 💛

I skipped book 1 because the blurb of this one sounded perfect and it definitely was

we have a grumpy stabby vampire and a sweet bubbly human

it's a slowish burn with a lot of chemistry and pining and the side characters are very entertaining

the narration by Will M Watt was amazing and very 🔥

Definitely a favourite!

Lark Taylor is a pro at writing beautifully dynamic and emotional stories.

She’s also an expert at building up a relationship then completely ripping your heart out, stomping on it and finally putting everything back together in the most thoughtful, satisfying manner. Definitely one of the most dynamic books I’ve read in the series, a LOT happens and I don’t have enough words to express how much I loved this book! It made me cry, which completely caught me off guard since I don’t usually cry when reading books of any kind but this one just… oooh boy, prepare yourselves. lol

TL;DR the narrative isn’t flat and you definitely won’t be bored.

Matty is indeed a ray of sunshine while Seb is a grumpy, hardened vampire who refuses to let anyone in. It’s one of my favourite dynamics too, so I’m a bit biased. I don’t want to spoil anything but I need to mention that during the narrative something absolutely heartbreaking happens that makes Matty lose a bit of his “light” and cheery personality and it felt very realistic and relatable. Seb was broken from the start and unfortunately he completely shattered as well.
But the resolution was brilliantly done: There was a lot of pining and emotional reparations being done which really made me want to continue to listen because I was rooting so hard for these two. What a cozy happy ending!

As for the narrators, I’ve only listened to Will. M. Watt in the previous book so I was already sold from the start. His performance of both characters is incredible but Seb was definitely my favourite. He had the whole broody, arrogant personality down to a T and I loved it!
As I’ve said before, Dan Calley has been here from the start and the book series wouldn’t be the same without him, obviously.

The writer was able to create a very immersive story which was elevated by excellent narrators and I honestly just couldn’t stop listening. Loved it!

Heartbreaking and beautiful

When a grumpy vampire meets pure sunshine, a bond is formed unlike any other. The unconditional love shown by both of them warmed my heart. While there are very traumatic parts, they are integral to the story and character development. Thankfully, there’s a HEA that makes it all worth it!

Will M Watt’s narration really brought this story to life.

Great

Another great audio book. I loved and read the print book and the audio is just as good. I love the performance and the characters are just how I think they would sound.

Love series, not the Twilight theme :-(

OK, I love this series and can't wait for the next in the installment but the whole, leaving VM and keeping dates was too similar to Twilight, Bella freaking out about Edward leaving, and really got on my nerves. Sabastian story ripped my heart out but this story just didn't have enough action for me. This is the first book I won't keep even though I love Sebastian in all the other parts of the series. Just not interested in listening to several chapters of Mattie leaving VM's.
