I’ve always been interested in the behind the scenes of K-Pop and this was a really fun listen. It was tough to turn off because I wanted to keep listening all the way through! Give this one a listen asap.

So much fun

This was a truly captivating coming-of-age story, brilliantly told by the author. Candace is a flawed—and completely human—protagonist, and regardless of whether you know anything about K-pop (I admittedly did not) the themes and characters will resonate.

The story arc was crisp and teeming with tension, and the author vividly paints each of the characters—warts and all.

I can’t wait for the sequel and for whatever works Stephan Lee publishes in the future. I’m a super fan for life!!

Brilliant!

Overall, it's a cute book with likable characters and a very basic outline of what it's like to train as a K-Pop hopeful. You can see a lot of the twists and turns coming from miles away, so when they happen, it's not too impactful. This is most obvious and, in my opinion, damages the book most right at the end where it just kind of falls flat. I definitely enjoyed the build up and the descriptions during the actual competition the most. If you're a fan of K-Pop, give it a shot. It's by no means a bad book! Just a predictable one.

Predictable and a bit unrealistic, but not a bad!

Listened to this one happily this week. Joy did a great job narrating, even when she had to read for the male voices. Loved hearing Candace Park’s journey from New Jersey High school student to a KPop idol trainee. It sounded well researched and completely believable. I’m giving finger hearts to this one!!!!

Fun book for any KPop fan!
