Publisher's summary

Jenny’s never had much time for boys, K-pop, or really anything besides her dream of being a professional cellist. But when she finds herself falling for a K-pop idol, she has to decide whether their love is worth the risk. A modern forbidden romance wrapped in the glamorous and exclusive world of K-pop, XOXO is perfect for fans of Jenny Han and Maurene Goo.

Jenny didn’t get to be an award-winning, classically trained cellist without choosing practice over fun. That is, until the night she meets Jaewoo. Mysterious, handsome, and just a little bit tormented, Jaewoo is exactly the kind of distraction Jenny would normally avoid. And yet, she finds herself pulled into spending an unforgettable evening wandering Los Angeles with him on the night before his flight home to South Korea.

With Jaewoo an ocean away, there’s no use in dreaming of what could have been. But when Jenny and her mother move to Seoul to take care of her ailing grandmother, who does she meet at the elite arts academy she’s just been accepted to? Jaewoo.

Finding the dreamy stranger who swept you off your feet in your homeroom is one thing, but Jaewoo isn’t just any student. Turns out, Jaewoo is a member of one of the biggest K-pop bands in the world. And like most K-pop idols, Jaewoo is strictly forbidden from dating anyone.

When a relationship means not only jeopardizing her place at her dream music school but also endangering everything Jaewoo’s worked for, Jenny has to decide once and for all just how much she’s willing to risk for love. XOXO is a new romance that proves chasing your dreams doesn’t have to mean sacrificing your heart, from acclaimed author Axie Oh.

Pretty good story but poor narration

I liked the story, but the narration was poor. I think it's better if you just read the book rather than listen to this.

YA Kdrama in all its glory

This book was so good! I’ve been looking for a book like this for a long time. Something that is fun, an interesting group of friends, a swoon worthy romance, with a kdrama feel! I was not disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed the story, the narrator, and the characters. I also drooled every time the amazing food was mentioned. Please, read/listen to this. You will not be disappointed! Oh, and there is subway mentions so it’s legit kdrama!

Fanfic for adults, lol

Look, I used to read fanfics when I was in HS and like my first year of university and I’m very far away from those years now but this book really brought me back and I loved it! I’m just curious to know who the inspiration behind the main Kpop idol was 😂 Anyways, it’s really good, super entertaining and the performance was great!

Cute YA Romance

Cute story and the writing was decent. My one issue is the annoying voices the narrator gave the female characters; I found it distracting.

Skip the audio read the book

Heard a lot of people rave about this book and was expecting a much cuter story. The book doesn't show much insight into the romance of the main characters as I would have liked to see. Which means you don't really have much investment in their story and whether or not they'll work out. The narration was also terrible. I really wish I would have just read the book instead; I think I probably would have enjoyed the story a lot more without the irritating voices the narrator chose to give the characters for whatever reason.

Overall, it was a cute enough story for me to finish it however I'd suggest getting a physically copy instead.

cute story but poor naration

The story is cute and a fast read. Thoroughly enjoyed the story itself but I couldn't stand the narrator. I ended up getting the book to read it and returned the audiobook. While I didn't like the narrator, I do recommend the book if you want a fun, sweet, fluff book.

Eh ..

I was anticipating this book since April and I was so ready to like it .. but sadly the plot didn't give it any justice
The story is about Jenny who can play the Cello like she was born to do it, but sadly the school she wants to get into tells her she needs more passion to her practice and thats when she meets Jaewoo, at first they spend a magical night together in LA but fate have them meet again in Seoul where she discovers he is a Kpop star in the most popular boy band in South Korea .. will their love survive fame and scandals ?
as I said, I like these kind of stories where a normal girl falls in love with a famous person, but this book lacked so many things that I couldn't feel anything throughout the book, Jaewoo was a good character but really flushed out and barely made a meaningful appearance and Jenny is so annoying and bratty to follow around .. I was more interested in her roommate story with Nathanial and it reached no conclusion !! .. I have to say I am a bit disappointed in this book

As for the narration I really don't know what is it about these new narrators, they are so robotic and barely performing anything .. the only good thing she did was her pronunciation is on point, other than that she was really boring
