From the author of the international best seller The Stone Man, short-listed for Audible UK's Book of the Year Award 2015.
Here are the rules.
Method: you can't use a gun. You can't use explosives. You can't use poison. It has to be up close and personal. You don't have to worry about leaving evidence; that will be taken care of.
Victim: no one suicidal. No one over the age of 65. No one with a terminal illness.
Choose your method. Choose your victim.
Chris Summer was a 21-year-old call centre worker. A dropout. A nobody, still living at home with his parents. Then one day the Man in White came to his family's house, offering a seemingly impossible choice: kill a random stranger - one of Chris' choosing - within 12 days in order to save the lives of five kidnapped siblings. Refuse, and they die slowly and painfully.
The clock is ticking, the Man in White is watching and Chris has some very important choices to make. This is a tale of fear, indecision, confused masculinity and brutal violence - a story of a coddled young man thrust into a world of sharp metal and bone. Ask yourself if you could do it. Then ask yourself who you would choose.

There is nothing like coming to that moment when you realize everything you have known isn't what you thought it was. As always, Mr. Smitherd has been able to unfold another "Made you think" moment wrapped in a captivating story. Well done as always! So long reality...

What did you love best about Kill Someone?
The idea of the story. This author's stories are quite unique and not a rehash of other stories already tired and tested.Which character – as performed by Matt Addis – was your favorite?
KlausIf you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
In this moral dilemma, what would you do?Any additional comments?
Once again, a great read from my favourite author, the only one I willingly leave references for, since he BEGS! lol!I enjoyed this book, and was once again surprised at how quickly I came to the end. it is incredibly read-able. I marvel as usual about how his mind comes up with this stuff. I have to say, I did find this book and the character a bit better developed (dare I say more sympathetic?) than some of the other books I have read. I think the author is coming into his own and his work is maturing as well. That is not to say his other books are not as good, they really are, but I did notice a subtle change in the work and am excited to see how he develops. I especially like the question the moral of the story leaves in my mind... to kill and live a mindful life, or not to kill and coast? Very interesting dilemma!
Luke, I love your stuff, so happy I found your books and that you have dared to dream and jump in the deep end! You go, girl-uhh, boy!!!
Great moral dillema!
