About this listen

The time seems ripe for success as Angie Turner opens her farm-to-table restaurant in her Idaho hometown - until her new tomato supplier is accused of murder and Angie has to pick the real killer....

To Angie, nothing tastes more like summer than her Nona's fried green tomatoes. Eager to add the recipe to the menu at the County Seat, she's found the perfect produce supplier - her sous chef Estebe's cousin, Javier. Just one problem: ladies' man Javier's current hot tomato Heather has turned up dead, and he's the prime suspect. Somehow, between managing her restaurant and navigating a romantic triangle between Estebe and Ian, the owner/manager of the farmer's market, Angie needs to produce evidence to clear Javier before this green tomato farmer gets fried....

Enjoyed another of her books. Great to listen when doing housework and in the car traveling.

Nice, easy listen. I really liked the twist at the end. I enjoy that the relationship between Angie & Ian is more than sex. I missed Ian’s brogue, what happened there?

Nice twist at the end. I didn't see it coming. usually I figure it out the killer early but this one surprised me.

Loved it.

Lynn Cahoon is one of my favorite authors. Susan Boyce is one of my favorite narrators. Put the two together and you have a cozy mystery series read to by a voice you enjoy hearing!

Wonderful team!

I enjoyed the book but I must have missed something in the beginning because I failed to see the connection between the title and the story. The victim was not killed by fried green tomatoes and the tomatoes had very little to do with the story except the ending. How were the green tomatoes a killer? Though I figured out one half of the mystery, I didn't figure out who was the murderer. I enjoyed the story and the progression to the murder revelation. Randye Kaye spoke too fast but I managed to work past that and enjoyed the first book. Though Susan Boyce's voice was not as lively as Randye Kaye's voice, Susan Boyce did well in the second book, lending to my listening enjoyment. I look forward to the next book.

What Did the Title Have to do with the Story?

OK - first of all I am from Boise, ID so I'm doubly loving this series. The locale is excellent and could be so many places around here but the story itself has a lot of twists and turns and is a surprise ending for me. Very good book and the reader was excellent!

Interesting title

Slow, slow, slow! Yet FUN. Modern Day and wholesome Nancy Drew series. Liked Ian’s Scottish/Irish accent and missed it in this story.

Not a page turner but fun.

The second in the Farm to Fork series finds Angie Turner trying to perfect her Nona's fried green tomato recipe for her restaurant, The County Seat, when her chef, Estebe asks her to take a tour of his cousin, Javier's farm. Finding the produce to be good, Angie agrees to buy from Javier, but then he is accused of murdering his girlfriend. The best parts of the story for me are the relationships of the folks in the small town, Angie and her friend, Felicia, Angie and her boyfriend, and especially the recipes and memories that she has of her Nona. I like that this is a clean series and not filled with explicit sex scenes or language. Great book and great resolution.

The restaurant is a booming success and the staff are a great team. But when the girlfriend of a new supplier is murdered it’s not good at all. Great narration and story.
