About this listen
Killer Kudzu is a pre-apocalyptic, semi-horror novel where science has gone terribly wrong. There is a southern twang in the characters' voices and a distinctive down-home feel in the locale.
It is written with a social twist and a commentary about the relationship between Blacks and Whites in the south.
Killer Kudzu is in the vain of the creeping menace like Pandemic, The Atlantic Gene, The Hot Zone, and The Day of the Triffids.

Story
One Sunday in the spring of 1988, a woman living on a reservation in North Dakota is attacked. The details of the crime are slow to surface as Geraldine Coutts is traumatized and reluctant to relive or reveal what happened, either to the police or to her husband, Bazil, and 13-year-old son, Joe. In one day, Joe's life is irrevocably transformed. He tries to heal his mother, but she will not leave her bed and slips into an abyss of solitude. Increasingly alone, Joe finds himself thrust prematurely into an adult world for which he is ill prepared.

Westley Flagg isn't your usual lawbreaker. He's a poacher, a moonshiner, and a prepper, out of necessity. Despite trying to live on the straight and narrow, he knows the law can turn things on you in a heartbeat. When Wes has to come up with money for his Grandpa's surgery, he gets involved with an unsavory group. Living deep in poverty for most of his life, he's become resilient and flexible, but college education can only take him so far. Story
From the mind of the man Stephen King calls "a master of the macabre", comes a brilliant new collection of no-punches-pulled horror stories, some never-before-collected and many originals that have never been published anywhere before. Bentley Little can take the innocuous, twist it around, and write a story that will change your way of thinking. Walking Alone: Short Stories is a shining example of his talent to scare you, creep you out, and make you shudder.

Story
Nine years after Brown v. Board of Education in 1954, and only a year before the Civil Rights Act of 1964, a judge in the Forsyth County Courthouse of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, wrenched 12-year-old Gene Cheek from the security of his mother's devotion. Here is a true story of love in a time afflicted by hatred, ignorance, and racism. At its core, this is a frank account of a love affair between a White woman and a Black man that took mother from son and split a family forever.

A Creative Southern Thriller
Such a creative idea for a thriller. If you’ve ever been in the south, you know just how creepy kudzu is. Julius Thompson took that idea and ran with it and Dr. Mounce narrates it perfectly. The book moves quickly, has great humor, and is written well. A great read.

Outbreak meets Day of the Triffids in the Deep South
What if Stephen King was born in Woodstock, Alabama? What if The Hot Zone crossed over with Day of the Triffids? If these terrors beyond imagining were gathered in one audiobook, you would get the Southern horror that is…Killer Kudzu!
