About this listen

Read by the author.

It's time to leave behind the discontent of comparative thinking and discover a free and joyful life in the security of God’s love.

If you find yourself filled with feelings of insecurity, sure that others are better off or more worthy than you are…then you’re in good company! In today’s image-driven world, nearly all of us deal with the struggles of comparison and self-worth.

Nona Jones knows this mindset all too well. Throughout her life and in her recent career as an executive for the world's largest social media company, Nona discovered how true confidence can only be achieved by defeating comparative thinking and securing our identity to God's approval alone.

Join Pastor Nona Jones as she provides a fresh, biblically rooted perspective on the age-old human habit of comparing oneself to others. Killing Comparison will give you the tools you need to:

  • Determine your true source of self-worth.
  • Develop practical ways to conquer daily comparison.
  • Learn how to control social media instead of letting it control you.
  • Discover how to accomplish your dreams without comparing yourself at every turn.

Through practical insight and down-to-earth encouragement, Nona helps you avoid the despair of comparison and pursue a life inspired by the one who made us in his image.

So helpful for healthy friendships

Nona turned a topic that normally feels chaotic and ambiguous into something attainable and clear. She takes what is convicting and challenging and makes it practical. I’m grateful for this book and the way it has helped me navigate my friendships. As an added bonus, Nona’s book inspired me to pursue my physical health and weight loss again!

Healing and inspirational!!

If you’ve ever felt unworthy or unwanted in any situation, if you’ve felt like others are getting the things you desire, or if you have a difficult time feeling accepted… this book is for YOU! I love how she incorporated the Word of God in the story and shows how jealously was in the Bible, too.

Deliverance from Toxicity

I appreciate Nona Jones’ authentic honesty about the core issues of her defiant behavior as a child. Her role as a mother, to help the teacher as she addressed her son understand healthy and respectful boundaries at school.
The writer rose to the occasion by learning how to embrace being a gifted servant while God continue to open the window of heaven and pour into her ministry. (Killing Comparison)
The writer should have named the rapist!
I would recommend this book to every mother, father, minister, judge, politician, teacher, and child. Prayerfully the Sexual Assault will end.

Incredible Transformational Truth

Killing Comparison by Nona Jones is refreshing, brilliant, and most of all helpful. Nona’s personal stories sealed it for me. She exemplified what Christians should be doing, sharing their pain with others to help them see that they are not along. There were so many one liners that she shared that was etched in my heart that I will remember all the days of my life. There were times, I actually got chills because her points were life changing breakthrough for me. We are going to either allow comparison to inspire us or expire us and I am choosing the formal. I always say comparison is like kryptonite to Superman, it zaps one of their power. Well Nona gives you the tools to take your God-given power back.

Powerful book. As I listened to her, I found myself not saying that I wish I was more like Nona. I was thinking that I am so inspired by Nona and I want to step into my greatness just like she did. It’s a moment by moment choice.

Nona, girl!! God used you. Thanks for your obedience and your love for God’s people. I hope one day, No I pray that one day our paths will cross so I can give you a big hug and thank you personally for giving me the tools to recognize, embrace and reframe toxic comparisons. God bless you.
