Story
We so often fail in our relationships with our families, our partners, our friends, and fellow humans because we are lazy in our love for one another, says Keion Henderson, pastor of the mega-church Lighthouse Church in Houston. Lazy love prevents us from experiencing the deep, soulful fulfillment we long to know. It keeps us from being known and enjoyed by those around us. In his new book Lazy Love, Henderson unpacks the four kinds of love mentioned in the Bible and shows listeners how each shapes our relationships and our lives.

Nothing New Here

Publisher's summary
Read by the author.
Greatness and mediocrity are separated by one thing--how you respond to rejection.
People who crumble beneath the weight of rejection never realize their full potential, but people who learn to use rejection as a catalyst experience fulfillment in their lives.
Nona Jones has experienced her fair share of rejection. Some of her earliest memories are of her mother's rejection, and those feelings persisted throughout her schooling, her career, and her infertility journey. Things that seemed to come easily to others seemed unavailable to Nona--but what could have taken her down the path of failure actually brought her to her greatest achievements.
The secret? Seeing rejection as the gift that it is.
The perfect follow-up to her previous book, Killing Comparison, The Gift of Rejection is a practical guide offering a new, unconventional framework for rejection; instead of being a pain to heal, it becomes a teacher to learn from. Nona shares insightful research, practical steps, and powerful stories from her own life as well as the lives of Bible characters and modern-day trailblazers to help you:
- Identify the root of rejection and how it's manifesting in your life
- Pinpoint when the pain of rejection is triggering you and counter it with truth
- Respond to rejection with resilience and resolve rather than fear and defeat
- Anchor your identity in who God is calling you to be
Rejection is a gift that can help you build resilience, character, and success. The Gift of Rejection will teach you how.

The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

The book of Enoch was thought to be lost for over 2,000 years until, in 1773, a traveller brought three copies back from Ethiopia. Whether or not this ancient book was actually authored by Enoch, the father of Methuselah and great-grandfather of Noah, is an ongoing debate among historians and theologians. But all recognise the book of Enoch as one of the most important apocalyptic works outside of the Bible.

Story
Living as a Black woman in America, Lisa Victoria Fields understands the tension of relying on God in a broken world. While pursuing her calling in full-time Christian ministry—an often white, male-dominated vocation—she saw the contentions many people have with Christianity. She heard the theological questions, but instead of arguing for her faith, she listened to the barriers and heard the pain in their hearts: I’m not welcomed or wanted. There is no justice in this world. God didn't intervene and protect me. Doesn’t God want me to be happy?

The Gift of Rejection Positions You For Purpose
If I could give this book a million stars, I would. The Gift of Rejection has truly ministered to my soul. I experienced rejection at an early age, when my father walked out of my life. Rejection has appeared in my life in many different forms and before reading this book, I never knew how to deal with it. Nona Jones gives me the tools that I’ll use going forward to help me cope when I’m faced with rejection. She backs every word with scripture reference. Rejection is truly God’s gift and His protection. Thank you, Nona for helping me see my life of rejection as a gift. Thank you for sharing your story and allowing God to use you to help others.

This Book is Gift!
I cannot tell you how many times Nona Jones “Gift of Rejection” sermon popped up on my YouTube algorithm. The sight of it made me cringe and had me thinking “oh no I don’t want to go there” until now God has me here in a time of rejection!
This book is such a treasure. Nona does such a wonderful job with her stories and insight. Her words are brief enough to not make you feel like you’re not picking at a wound but soothing enough to assess it!
Thank you Nona for sharing such deep and personal insight into your heart and leading us to look up instead of down at our seasons of rejection. Blessings!!

This book is for everyone!
If you’ve ever been rejected by a person or a job, you need this book!
Nona’s story is so relatable and she shares many different examples of rejection that happens often in our lives.
I read the whole book in one day. I couldn’t put it down! She had me in tears as it stirred up my past rejections that I’ve been holding onto. I feel equipped to start using her OPEN strategy to evaluate them one by one.
God placed Nona on my heart at the perfect time. I saw her on the Bible App yesterday and read her 5 day devotional in one sitting. Then I quickly pre-ordered her book that released today. God knew I needed this message and he cleared my busy schedule so that I could read what He needed me to hear.
Thank you Nona for being so vulnerable and sharing your story! God bless you!
