About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

Read by award-winning narrator Jeff Harding.

**NOW A MAJOR PRIME TV SERIES STARRING ALAN RITCHSON**

Jack Reacher jumps off a bus and walks fourteen miles down a country road into Margrave, Georgia. An arbitrary decision he's about to regret. Reacher is the only stranger in town on the day they have had their first homicide in thirty years.

The cops arrest Reacher and the police chief turns eyewitness to place him at the scene. As nasty secrets leak out, and the body count mounts, one thing is for sure. They picked the wrong guy to take the fall.

Although the Jack Reacher novels can be listened to in any order, Killing Floor is the first audiobook in the internationally popular series. It presents Reacher for the first time, as the tough ex-military cop of no fixed abode: a righter of wrongs, the perfect action hero.

"This was the first Jack Reacher novel and with its lean, spare prose it has one of the most intriguing heroes of our times and displays a gift for explosive drama." (Daily Express)

‘Jeff Harding’s [...] narration captures Reacher’s character perfectly [...] you have to savour every minute.’

Horrible reader

The book is written in I format and the readers voice does not match the figure in the books age, persona or way of talking. Story awesome, but read it yourself.

None stop listenenin

Fantastic story, but if a character like Finley was in story - in other books of the series, and the unnecessary blaspheming the Man Who came and died for me, and rose again, if he blasphemed Muhammad, his head wud be cut off. But the saddest thing is that swearing doesn’t bother us too much, but against my Saviour and Lord, is just unbearable and hurtful

Good story, horrible narration

I only finished this book because I was curious how it ends. In the most of it the narration sounds like shopping list or user manual being read out loud. Gets little better in the second half but still not very pleasant experience.

Narrator does not do the author justice

The narrators voice is extremely monotonous. I have read the book, find it much more entertaining than the audible version.

Great story great narration

Well written great imagery. Strong character development. Interesting and clever plot. I think the narration is perfect for the main character in a first person perspective.

Great story - just one problem

It’s a great story ... but the ‘he said’ ‘she said’ just gets to you ! I wish they could just edit that part!

Lee Child is some writer!

Admittedly read this because of the tv series - that Alan Ritchson was marvellous as the protagonist. Having discovered the writing prowess of Lee Child, I’ll read more of his now. Not a fan of the narrator but now a fan of Lee. Have to say I wish Roscoe was more like the tv series’ depiction.

fun fast paced book that keeps you engaged the whole time. narrator did a good job. the style of writing is descriptive but thankfully leaves a lot for the imagination.
