She's used to putting everyone first - her sister, her friends, her boss. It's now her turn...
Art conservator, Kara Michaels has decided it's time to chase her dream - start her own business restoring and framing works of art. She has the skills, the nose for business, and the pent-up frustration from being invisible to the man she wants but can't have - her boss.
He's a meticulous planner whose rule book is about to be tossed out the window...
Baron Fitzgerald, a successful art dealer and Kara's boss, believes in having a strategy and following it without deviation. So when Kara tenders her resignation, he sets out to convince her to stay. Baron soon realizes that falling in love cannot be planned, but the insight comes a little too late for him and Kara.

Kara is a strong and independent woman. She is great at what she is doing, but it takes her a while to gather her guts to open her own business and leave her present boss, whom she has a crash for five years.
Baron is a handsome gallery owner, Kara’s boss, who is attracted to her, but takes his time to approach her. Only when she gives her 1-month notice he is jumping into action to make her his.
On their way to happiness, they face many obstacles; part of it is dealing with their families. However, they believe in family ties and always try to be there for family and vs.
The narrator was great with different voices and emotions. She even added a piece of appropriate music for the required situations. It was very entertaining.

The author, EB Walters does yet another superb job on this book! I LOVE her style of writing. It wasn't too long ago I won the entire series of the Fitzgerald Family in audiobooks and I am loving this author! Ms Walters has a way of capturing our hearts and keeping us captive as the stories unfold. I am never disappointed. The narrator, Valerie Gilbert does a great job delivering this story to us once again. I love all the voices and accents she uses along with so many emotions. This series is so worth listening to , EVEN IF you already read the books! Audiobooks take on a life of their own, kind of like watching a movie with your back to it, so you can only hear what happens.
*** I won this entire series in audiobooks for free and am posting a honest and unbiased review because I want to! ***
Even better than the last 2 books...

Kara works for an art gallery and is bound and determined to open up her own business refinishing artwork and framing the masterpieces that come through her door. However the book starts out with her turning in her resignation to Barron her current boss. naturally he does not want to see her go and plots this wonderful collection they have to go look at together and of course is out of state. Needless to say the two finally admit that they love each other and let their relationship blossom into something else. There's a few twists and turns in the plot line where their past comes back to possibly haunt them. highly entertaining read I think the narrator did an amazing job pulling you into the story and keeping you entertained throughout the entire book. the narrator has this great ability to pull you into a trance that only ends when the book is over. Fantastic job cannot wait to finish the seriesDreams and goals

very entertaining

It gets 4 stars because of the contrived scenario at the end to give the couple an obstacle to split them up. It could have been done a bit differently. I still give it a 4 because 9/10ths of the story was enjoyable and I carried my laptop around with me so I didn't miss a thing.
In particular, I really enjoy the narrator who adds the right touches of sighs, exhalations and other non-verbal cues that often are overlooked by narrators. She does an excellent job in nearly acting, with tones and inflections that really bring this to life. In fact, she may even elevate the overall story with her skills. I'd put her up there with XE Sands, Justine Eyre, & Kaleo Griffith.
Definitely worth a credit.
Real romance, real relationship, satisfying!

Would you try another book from E. B. Walters and/or Valerie Gilbert?
Valerie? Definitely. I've listened to many of her audiobooks, although she didn't do the greatest job in this story. ALTHOUGH, she did warn me in advance that this was one of her first narrations. E. B. Walters? I'm not sure. This was the first story I've read/listened to by her and I wasn't a fan of this one. What was most disappointing about E. B. Walters’s story?
There was nothing new. It was just one of your typical, boring romances. What aspect of Valerie Gilbert’s performance would you have changed?
Again, let me state that Valerie Gilbert warned me in advance that this story might have been one of the first books she’s narrated. With that in mind, there were issues with the narration, mainly there was this sound of cars driving by that could be heard in the background. While this narration provided some sound effects, the cars wasn’t one because it was an almost constant background noise, no matter if the characters were in a building or outside.I did come to realize that there were several words that Valerie mispronounced such as: capri pants, she pronounced it as ‘cap-pree’ pant ... I know there were others but I didn’t take note of them.
Any additional comments?
There were obvious editing issues with this story as well. Unless Valerie misread ‘Aaron’ but ‘Baron’ in some situations then the editor or someone didn’t do a good editing job. The first mention of ‘Aaron’ was after Cara gave her resignation and was heading out to lunch, she looked back and up towards ‘Barons’ office, but ‘Aaron’ was used. The other time was when Baron’s brother asked him if Cara was still with him after he had left Cara’s sisters house, again, ‘Aaron’ had been used.My only question about the story: After Cara turns in her resignation why did she go to work the next day with her hair down, nicer outfit, and makeup? (Considering she didn’t go to work like that normally).
