Publisher's summary

Kiss River's historic 19th-century lighthouse has all but fallen into the sea, taking with it the huge Fresnel lens that once served as its beacon. Gina is desperate to find a way to raise the lens; the glass holds the key to her future, her fortune, and her only chance to save the one person who matters to her. Clay O'Neill lives in the old light keeper's house, a home he shares with his sister, Lacey. When Lacey invites her to stay with them, Gina eagerly accepts. As Gina begins her quest to raise the lens, Clay finds himself drawn to her struggle and to Gina herself. But the answers lie deep below the ocean, and the lighthouse holds secrets that neither Clay nor Gina can anticipate...

Very very slow start.

this book had a very very slow start. i made myself finish it because I listened to the 1st book. I am not sure if I have it in me to listen to the third book in this series.

Liked the first book better.

I really wanted to like this book. The first book in this series was very good but this one....not so much. The characters were annoying and whiney. I liked Clay but Gina was very stupid, annoying and immature. The story didn't grab my attention, it was a bit scattered. Part looking for the lens from a lighthouse, part unraveling a mystery and the other a strange tangent regarding foreign adoption. I was glad when this one was finished.

Book 2 was a hit

I loved the characters. The voices were distinct enough to know who was talking. Twist at the end but in a good way-not over the top and believable.

Genuine it was a good story

I liked how it captured the feelings of young women back in those days. Particularly around teen pregnancy

2nd story in the trilogy..quite good

I've listened to several of Chamberlains novels in the past few weeks and really enjoy them..so far I haven't hit a lemon amongst them!

This book continues in the Kiss River Lighthouse stories with characters first introduced in the beginning book-and several new characters are introduced.

Chamberlain writes a good plot twist that comes along unexpectedly and makes you go "Hummmmm...I didn't expect that!" I really enjoy that sort of stye of writing.

Read the first book first (Duh) and the final book after this one (also Duh). It's an effective trilogy but does need to be read in sequence.

Enjoy!

Great continuation

Can't wait to read book 3!!
Thoroughly enjoyed the action and mystery in this book. It is actually better than book 1, I think!

***All that being said, this book could be read as a stand alone if you prefer.

Excellent

Excellent Book #2 in the Lighthouse trilogy! I loved the story more than I thought I would, after reading book 1, and now looking forward to starting Book #3 after I write this review. I loved the characters and how they developed, and how the present and past interacted with each other. Great narrator, great story!

I'm Totally Hooked!

The combination of a story set in a place I love (the outer banks of North Carolina) and beautiful narration have me totally enthralled.

I really enjoyed the diary part of the story, although I see some people did not. It was fascinating to me to hear about the OBX in war time, and to have the old coast guard station brought to life.

Pretty good

I didn't realize this was a trilogy and read this (book 2) first, but it was complete enough that it was not a problem following. The story held my attention but I didn't rally care for the ending. I just started book 1 and I am hoping the ending is a little better than this one.
