Publisher's summary

Evan and Scout have known each other their whole lives. In fact, they have the same family.

Okay, they aren't actually related, but Evan's uncle married Scout's aunt, so...yeah, it's a little awkward just how often Scout thinks naughty things about his not-cousin. Especially since they have actual family reunions together. But temptation such as Evan Felton is hard to ignore. Scout's fought the long, hard fight - really long and really hard - but the devil done presented him with a shiny (said in an extremely Southern accent while shaking a fist in the air for drama), and he's starting to think weak men have all the fun.

Their once easy friendship shifted when they both went through puberty and Evan presented as alpha while Scout presented as omega. Alphas should have to go through some kind of training course on how to handle hormones and emotions, because Evan is pretty sure his inability to process how he was reacting to his then best friend was what drove them apart, and now all they do when they are together is bicker, which is actually pretty fun and makes their cousin Ronni laugh, but when the reunions are over and they go back to their normal lives, it always feels like a little part of him is missing, and he knows that part is Scout.

When an opportunity presents itself in the form of pranking their cousin Ronni's new boyfriend, lines get crossed...in the best way imaginable, but what happens when the reunion is over, and they go back to their lives without pranks and family keeping them together?

Kissing...Cousins? is book one in my new lighthearted Omegaverse Sprung like Spring novella series. These books can be listened to as stand-alones, but getting to know the overlapping characters will make it worth listening in order. There will be fluff, humor, and probably some pining, so sit back, relax, and take a break from the horrors of reality!

Missing Kenneth Obi

So I just did a star review when I first completed the book and came back today to see if anymore had come out. Seen the other review posted so I had to say my bit too I guess. I’m completely the opposite. I didn’t enjoy the narrator at all and had trouble following a lot of it. I miss Kenneth Obi so much. Most all of the books he narrated were an auto buy for me. Since he died I’ve seen several of my favorite authors struggle to find a new narrator and I hate to say it but this one just isn’t it. I didn’t enjoy his voice, weird pauses and many repeated lines. Narration is the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars.

Glad to see this series on Audible!

This is probably my favorite series of JD Light’s (along with the gym one that I can never remember the name of). When I saw this was released on audiobook, I crossed my fingers, legs, and toes that she had chosen a different narrator for this series. Can we all breathe a collective sigh of relief for Brock Starr? It’s a short book—shorter than I originally thought—but not a bad one. It revolves around two “cousins” falling for each other (or, more like, finally taking the leap) while at a weekend family reunion. It’s set in an Omegaverse, so be forewarned if non-shifting alphas and omegas are not your thing. It’s actually pretty funny and I highly recommend books 2, 3, and 4 from the series as well. Brock Starr did a pretty good job (the bar wasn’t set that high to begin with...had to say it) and while there wasn’t a huge deviation in all the voices, I was most impressed by his Scout vs. Evan voices. Also, Scout is close to Scott and I swear that half the time he was saying “Scott” in the book, but I could be wrong. Some lines were repeated as well, but it didn’t detract from the story IMO. Not a bad spend of $5 and I look forward to getting the rest of the series as well.

Sweet and Funny

I really enjoyed this story when I read it so I was happy to see the audio come out. Its a sweet story of "cousins" who are always fighting. They pretend to be together to mess with another cousins boyfriend - and quickly find their attraction is really. Its a really enjoyable story, its a short quick listen. Brock Starr is a new narrator. I thought he did a decent job, with more time he will do very well. His narration did not detract from the story at all though.

Love this book

Great book, awesome series with a lot other books that arc off. Narrator was iffy. Lots of repeated sentences and just not awesome sounding on the ears

Kissing Cousins indeed

Listening to this story was a treat. I loved Evan and Scout and the crazy antics they did to torture their cousin.

Well...

A funny thing happened as I listened to this book, I actually liked it a bit less than when I read it with my eyes.

Slight spoilers as it's a very short story

So in here we have Scout, the omega, and Evan the alpha. (Forgive any wrong spellings as it is audio and I can't search). These two know each other because their aunt and uncle got married making them step cousins. I am not sure why they say they aren't family, as step certainly counts as family.

These guys have apparently wanted each other forever and thanks to a boyfriend of yet another cousin, they decide to flirt and act like they are together to freak out the boyfriend as he didn't know that they were step cousins and this is done at the reunion.

This makes them realize that they were really horny and were actually humping each other in front of the whole family. That part sticks out much more when hearing it in audio. They did not consent to seeing it.

The reunion ends but they don't and surprise! A baby is on the way. These dingdongs admit their feelings and are gonna have their hea.

Also for some odd reason Scout's brother is also pregnant at the same time.

The narration was good, anyone who can read a slick scene and make it sound sexy is a hero to all.
