About this listen

Garrett, baron of the Cinque Ports, has sworn his allegiance to King Edward III to keep the channel safe and secure from marauders. But while on a journey heading to Great Yarmouth for a well-earned respite, he comes across the pirate ship that has been evading his capture. When he boards the ship, hoping to overtake them with his men, a storm at sea leaves him stranded alone with a ship of pirates.

Echo is the daughter of the infamous pirate Captain Powell ap Llyr. She has been raised aboard the ship of cutthroat men, trying to live up to her father's expectations of being the son he never had. But when a handsome lord is trapped aboard her ship, she knows she cannot let him die at the hands of her father and the crew. And when she finds out who the man is, she helps him escape for reasons that may benefit herself as well. But once on land, things take an unexpected twist, and she needs to pretend she is a lady.

Will they continue the guise, or will the Lord Warden's visit strip one's title and send the other to the gallows?

Love and honor clash as a nobleman and a pirate fall in love and face the most difficult challenge of their lives.

Pirates!

Another good story from Ms. Rose. Thrilling adventure about a lady pirate who is tired of the life aboard a pirate ship. The twist and turns will keep you listening.
Kevin Green is a wonderful narrator and breathes life into each character.

A Lady is Born

The final book in this great series. We met Garrett in the last book, Lord of Illusion, he is now the baron of the Cinque Ports. He makes sure the seas are secure from pirates. On one of his trips, he comes across one of the pirate ships and is captured. He encounters a young pirate and soon realizes that the pirate is a woman. Echo, is the daughter of the pirate Captain Powell. She helps him escape, but soon they are stranded on an island. Soon his crew rescues them. He has to hide the fact that she is a pirate to his men, but is really the widow of his late brother. He must train her to become a Lady and this is hard. Follow their journey together, on land and on the sea.

I thoroughly enjoyed this final instalment in the series.

I loved the final book in this series. Echo and Garrett's story brings this story of lost and stolen children to a close with more action. Echo is the final missing sibling, raised by Pirates so there is action aplenty. The characters are interesting and very likeable so it's way too easy to get drawn into the story. I had the audio version which was narrated very well by the same person in each book which was appealing to me. Loved it.

My favorite of this series

At last the final sibling is found and brought back to the family! This was my favorite book in the series. Echo is a lovely character, and it was wonderful to see a happy ending for Garrett (brother of Abby, who we met in the previous book).

Full of action and some romance.

This was a fast paced tale full of action, that will keep you wondering what will happen next. I did feel for Echo, given the father she had and her rough upbringing and especially as she tried to fit in to life in a castle. My feelings on Garrett were a little mixed, he wasn’t above using Echo for his own ends and even seemed to look down on her at times. However, he did redeem himself in the end. The story was read well by Kevin Green and different accents were used for the characters to help bring them to life.
