About this listen
Married couple and award-winning musical artists Rebecca St. James and Cubbie Fink share powerful stories of faith from their family's journey to encourage you and draw you closer to God.
With authentic storytelling and hard-won wisdom, Rebecca St. James and Cubbie Fink illuminate the heartaches and triumphs that have shaped their story as a married couple, as parents, as musicians, and—most of all—as Jesus followers.
Journey with Cubbie and Rebecca and discover hope for your own story as they wrestle through questions like:
- How does God redeem life’s big losses, like miscarriage, betrayal, and other traumatic experiences?
- How do we find true and healthy identity outside of what we do and what people think of us?
- How can we best honor our marriage and love our family well through seasons of great hardship?
- On the mountaintops and in the valleys, how do we discover an unwavering commitment to God that is lasting ever?

When your faith as you know it has been commodified, nationalized, scandalized, and rebranded beyond recognition, is it even possible to recover the "good" of Jesus from this cluster of epic proportions? Writer and podcaster Erin Moon has questions, and this book is her open letter for anyone who feels iffy, conflicted, or just downright devastated by this disconnect. With empathy, insight, and the therapy of memes and a good laugh, Erin maps out not a rigid prescription but an open-hearted pathway for you to reclaim what you once loved about your faith home and light a match to the rest.

Leigh Beth Stilton has never liked the holidays. After growing up in an unstable home, escaping an abusive marriage, and witnessing daily tragedies as an EMT, Leigh just can’t bring herself to care about Christmas cheer. In fact, she’s so convinced she’s not worth loving that one winter’s eve, she decides she can’t go on—until she comes across a book called Bethel and starts to read. Leigh is unfamiliar with the author, J.D. Harper, but his words speak directly to her. She’s never felt so seen and understood, and this connection gives her the strength to carry on.

The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

The book of Enoch was thought to be lost for over 2,000 years until, in 1773, a traveller brought three copies back from Ethiopia. Whether or not this ancient book was actually authored by Enoch, the father of Methuselah and great-grandfather of Noah, is an ongoing debate among historians and theologians. But all recognise the book of Enoch as one of the most important apocalyptic works outside of the Bible.

The Qur'an, believed by Muslims to be the word of God, was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad 1,400 years ago. It is the supreme authority in Islam and the living source of all Islamic teaching; it is a sacred text and a book of guidance that sets out the creed, rituals, ethics, and laws of the Islamic religion. It has been one of the most influential books in the history of literature. Recognized as the greatest literary masterpiece in Arabic, it has nevertheless remained difficult to understand in its English translations.

The secret to happiness is to acknowledge and transform suffering, not to run away from it. Here, Thich Nhat Hanh offers practices and inspiration transforming suffering and finding true joy. Thich Nhat Hanh acknowledges that because suffering can feel so bad, we try to run away from it or cover it up by consuming. We find something to eat or turn on the television. But unless we’re able to face our suffering, we can’t be present and available to life, and happiness will continue to elude us.

He and Daniel Radcliffe became like brothers, and the cast and crew a second family. Then tragedy struck. During the making of Deathly Hallows Part 1 a stunt went badly wrong and David's spinal cord snapped. He was only 25 and would never walk again.

So Encouraging, Hard to stop listening!
Her best book yet! Lasting Ever has been a breath of fresh air. I have followed Rebecca’s music from 16 years old all the way to nearly 40 and have met her twice. Her and her family are some of the most genuine people you will ever meet. The book is a testament to that genuineness. Both her and Cubbie are extremely transparent about their struggles both separate and together, and about the challenges they have faced in marriage and with their children. Lasting Ever is a hard book to stop once you start it. It has been very encouraging to me, and I bought the audio book for my husband and I to listen to together. I highly recommend this for singles seeking to get married someday, as well as engaged and married couples!

I really enjoyed this book!
I was really looking forward to listening to this after I saw an interview with the couple. i had recently seen the movie unsung hero and it was fabulous! so hearing this side and point of view was really interesting to me. although their lives growing up and professional are probably vastly different from the average american, they had a great perspective and they did a great job reading the book and I immensely enjoyed their story!
