About this listen

Raw, animal magnetism is a big red flag to prim and proper office manager Jane Morgan.

After a rough childhood with a mother who liked her men in prison-jumpsuit orange, Jane changed her name, her look, and her taste for bad boys. So why is she lusting for William Chase with his tattoo-covered biceps and steel-toed boots? The man blows things up for a living!

She gives herself one explosive, fantasy-filled night with Chase. The next day it's back to plain Jane and safe men.

But when her beloved brother becomes a murder suspect, it's Chase who comes to her rescue. And Jane discovers that a man who's been around the block knows a thing or two about uncovering the truth....

Light Romance

This was a fun listen. I started it and had to finish it. I loved the main characters Jane and Chase; their attraction was palatable. I don't know a lot about Biker culture but was intrigued. I was more into the romance than the conflict with Jane's brother. But that might have been the authors intention. The reader was good and I enjoyed Dahl's humor.

HOT HOT HOT!!

This book had me steaming! I loved it! I love how the main female character is strong on the outside but a softy on the inside. I like how she learns the importance of family. She also has such a strong sense of her own sexuality and I love that she gives no excuses or feels like that is wrong in herself. All around a very enjoyable and funny book.

Very Good Story, Sometimes Slow

Overall, I really enjoyed this story. Victoria is a very good storyteller. At times, I did find myself rolling my eyes at Jane's inability to move on, but that is probably just a personality thing. I am very much someone who let's things go, so I can get annoyed with people (even fictitious ones) who can't. I will definitely be purchasing her other two books to listen.

OK

I liked the story line but the sex was a little too explicit. Good narrator.

Read the 3 book series

Read all three in the series beginning with "Talk Me Down, Start Me Up, Lead Me On" in that order. Dahl's humor keeps you laughing out loud, sexy steamy romance with none of the character "side bar redundant drivel" that seems to be fill-in words to meet that page count quota you find in most novels.

I love these stories. The best credits I've used!

Loved it! Super glad I took a chance on this book

What made the experience of listening to Lead Me On the most enjoyable?

It was the perfect mix of romance, humor and a tiny bit of adventure. I loved Chase and Jane together and their dynamic was awesome. The sex scenes were hot and descriptive but weren't so long that I felt like I was reading a porno. This book kept me entertained and I was fighting a smile through a big part of it

What does Savannah Richards bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I really liked this narrator. Her reading style didn't annoy me or get in the way. She was very expressive. With her I was able to got lost in the characters and emotions. She did an awesome job of portraying the characters attitudes.

Any additional comments?

I really liked how the characters were fleshed out in this book. All the characters, not just the main ones, were an important part of the story and made it feel more realistic and rounded, unlike some where there is a hyper focus on the two main characters. I really liked Jane. Her rough past and how she got through it was believable and not cheese or over dramatic. Chase made me smile and was a super hot and sexy :) yumalicious!

Loved it!

This was a great listen. The story of Jane and Chase was interesting, sexy and smart. Best of all was the narrator. She made the story even better. Don't miss this one!

Snobby idiot for a main character

Would you listen to Lead Me On again? Why?

The narrator was wonderful - the story itself was a repeating mess.

What could Victoria Dahl have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Not harp so much on "how Chase wasn't good enough" and "how people are watching her every move". Real life - tattoos and a blue collar job aren't a bad thing. Maybe to Ms. Dahl but in my life those things aren't bad at all. And seriously people aren't watching each others every move.

The character Jane was annoying and I wanted to shake her half the time. When the story wasn't harping on her past or people watching her it was good. Jane's constant need to say I'm sorry to people that don't deserve the courtesy of a "sorry" was irritating as hell.I wanted to fast forward through so much of this dang book.

Which character – as performed by Savannah Richards – was your favorite?

Gramma Olive - hilarious.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was irritated through it.

Very hot and sexy romance...

Would you try another book from Victoria Dahl and/or Savannah Richards?

This was my first Victoria Dahl book and I liked it. I would try another one if it had good ratings.
I have listened to several books narrated by Savannah Richards. I actually bought this book because it was narrated by her. A narrator makes or breaks an audiobook and I must say Savannah Richards is one of my favorite narrators.

If you’ve listened to books by Victoria Dahl before, how does this one compare?

My first VD book. This is a story of a wild child turned responsible serious adult coming to terms with who she really is, re establishing a relantioship with her family and falling in love with who she thought was the wrong man... I found it hard to believe that people with such rough pasts can actually change that much but I guess it is possible. Also I like the fact that you learn thought the story that one should not judge, everyone has a story and we all deserve a second chance...

What does Savannah Richards bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Savannah Richards has a very pleasant voice. You can easily differentiate between characters and she makes the story more vivid for the listener. If SR is narrating I defenitely prefer listening to her rather than reading the book myself.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

I'm actually not sure. What I did not love about this book is that you have ex cons that are really decent good people (which I don't get how they could have actually robbed or killed?) also promiscuos girls that then turn into very respectable women. I just think that most of the characters were contradicting in their actions and personalities.

Any additional comments?

This is not my favority book but it is a good listen. If you are conservative, this is not a book for you. If you are very open minded or if you had a tough childhood and then changed your life, then you will really enjoy this.
