About this listen

Too much of a good thing.

With her long ponytail and sparkling green eyes, Tessa Donovan looks more like the girl next door than a businesswoman - or a heartbreaker. Which may explain why Detective Luke Asher barely notices her when he arrives to investigate a break-in at her family’s brewery. He’s got his own problems - starting with the fact that his partner, Simone, is pregnant and everyone thinks he’s the father.

Tessa has her hands full, too. Her brother’s playboy ways may be threatening the business, and the tension could tear her tight-knit family apart. In fact, the only thing that could unite the Donovan boys is seeing a man come after their "baby" sister. Especially a man like Luke Asher. But Tessa sees past the rumors to the man beneath. He’s not who people think he is - and neither is she.

My favorite of the series so far!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this audiobook to a girlfriend. It a chick audio that is spicy and actually has a good story line.

What did you like best about this story?

The chemistry between the main characters.

Which character – as performed by Lauren Fortgang – was your favorite?

Tessa, I know someone that is like her!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, that's the beauty of these books, you want to listen to them but you can put them down when other duties call.

The narrator saved the story

Lauren Fortgang did a good job narrating this story. I’m not sure I would have completed the story if she wasn’t so effortless to listen to.

No one talked to each other. I felt like I was listening to story about a group of teenagers more often than adults.

Luke was a hypocritical ass, so I kept hoping that Tessa would find another love interest even though I knew that wasn’t going to happen.

Although I barely liked anyone it did make me laugh and the sex scenes were pretty great.

Just okay

Tessa was immature but the story is okay. Luke was hot and a good guy so it helped.

I REALLY LIKED THIS BOOK BECAUSE

Victoria Dahl does it again. What i like about this book is the relationship between the charactors and the storyline. This book is part of a 3 book series so if you like this book you will definitly like the other two. Just make sure you listen to them in order.

Fun and Entertaining Romantic Comedy

Good Girls Don't by Victoria Dahl is a light, fun and entertaining romantic comedy that I really enjoyed. The Donavan family trio (Eric, Jamie and Tessa) is very relatable, and while the problems they face may not be, their reactions to circumstances are. They love each other and the level of commitment they share with one another is fundamental to the theme/plot, making this book work.

Lauren Fortgang did a very good job with the narration. Her voices were easy to listen to and distinguished characters nicely.

I did find parts that were laugh-out-loud funny, and even teared up (briefly) when Tessa confessed her woes to her oldest brother, Eric.

This book is for mature audiences as it is pretty steamy with some graphic love scenes. Overall, however, it is a cute, funny story, that will entertain.
Credit worthy...yes!

Too much like the other two

I wanted to read this book because I really enjoyed _"Bad Boys Do". Really enjoyed that storyline&the characters."Real Men Will" was ok, I didn't like the storyline or characters as much. I think this one is should be read first if you are going in order, I didn't realize that. I don't think I would have purchased the other books if I had listened to this one first. "BBD" appealled to me the most. The three books are very similar and after you have read one you can pretty much figure out the remaining books. This is good for a light read for a weekend. The "not intimacy" is very graphic if that is a concern to you.

good listen

If you could sum up Good Girls Don't in three words, what would they be?

Funny, light, and sexy.

What other book might you compare Good Girls Don't to and why?

The other two books in the trilogy. Listen to them in order to better see character developmemt through the books.

What about Lauren Fortgang???s performance did you like?

Good character differences in vocal tone. I didn't have to wait for the phrase about who said the line. I wasn't distracted from the story, but rather pulled in by the performance.

Any additional comments?

The characters were great, the storyline believable, and the performance was very easy to listen to.

Wanted to like this one more . . .

The narration was fine. There was noticeable differentiation between different characters, I could always tell who was talking. The voices Fortgang uses play into the characterizations Ms. Dahl has set up.

I was unable to really connect to this story but it was an entertaining enough first time listen, although I don't think I will go back and play it again. I found the characters to be predictable. Bad boy gone good cop/ lover, good girl/ little sister, hyper-responsible/ hyper-mature oldest brother and last but not least goof ball/ care-free middle child. This would be fine but there wasn't a whole lot more to these characters to set them apart from the stereo types they are made out to be. The story was cute and it had it's funny parts and it was racier than I had anticipated which I found to be a plus. I do appreciate that although this novel is part of a trilogy it was a stand alone story that had a nice resolution at the end and didn't result in a cliff hanger ploy to sell subsequent novels.

I'm not sure I would recommend paying full price for this book but if you happen to catch it on sale I think it's worth it.
