Publisher's summary

Ryan Haskell loves everything about the wine business. He's fortunate to work at one of the most prestigious wineries in Napa Valley doing something he enjoys with the people who are like family to him. But he could do without the good-natured intern slash former jock with the wicked grin who always seems to be in the way. Ryan isn’t sure why the new guy is under his skin when everyone else loves him. Thankfully he'll be gone after the holidays.

Danny Meyers can’t believe his luck when he lands an internship at Conrad Winery. It’s the perfect temporary gig to wrap up his graduate studies. He's left his dreams of tennis stardom on the court to focus on a new career and a new life. However, he didn't count on the spark of attraction he feels for his prickly co-worker. When their tentative friendship blossoms into something more than either man counted on, they may have to change direction and lean into a holiday wish.

A great way to spend your evening!

Another short, but oh so sweet story by Lane Hayes. It was nice seeing another side to Ryan. This was a nice, easy read with a side of smolder. Danny was surprising, and hard to read for a bit. That threw Ryan off his game. Once they cleared that up, things got hot at a steady pace. This book can be read as a standalone, but it would enhance your reading experience if you read the series in order. You will come across side characters that had their own book, or will have their own book coming up. You will enjoy the narrator. He does a fantastic job with all of the different characters in the book.

Terrific narration!

Dual POV with plenty of sexy heat, a happy ending, and terrific narration!

There is a bit too much time jumping for my personal taste, but overall I enjoyed this – especially the narration by Russo.

I don’t know how I’ve missed this series, but even though I haven’t read the rest of the series, this worked as a standalone even though it has a large cast of characters. Mostly because Hayes makes sure to give just enough backstory on everyone and Nick J. Russo provides clear, distinctive character voices for everyone.

Definitely a fun listen, and I’m going to make sure the rest of the series moves up on my TBR list!

Perfect for every season!

5 Stars!!!

Ryan is determined to survive the next few months working with Danny Meyers, who is a flirt and gets under Ryan's skin like no one else. Yes, the man is gorgeous, but he's not even gay or Ryan's type, is he?

I adored Ryan! He was so prickly and determined not to give in to his attraction to Danny, even if Geordie kept pushing him in that direction. I wasn't sure what to feel about Danny at first, he was a bit of a mystery, even if he kept flirting with Ryan, but once I learned more about him, I fell head over heels for him. He was so sweet and I loved how he pursued Ryan. They were just perfect together, complementing each other in the best of ways. Their chemistry was off the charts and they were sizzling hot, but my favorite part was their banter and how much fun they had with each other.

The narration was superb. Nick J. Russo captured Danny and Ryan perfectly and turned what already was a fabulous holiday novella into something even better. It was just perfect to put me in the right mood for this holiday season and I can't recommend it and this series enough!

One of my favorite audios of 2018

For a change, I'm not going into go into the whole summation of basic details and points of the story without giving any spoilers away. I did all that when I reviewed the ebook, and now, I just want to bask in the giddiness inspired by what I consider the perfection combination of Lane Hayes's writing and Nick J. Russo's narration in Leaning Into a Wish. Nearly a year after having read the book, and Danny Myers and Ryan Haskell still have a firm hold on this heart of mine. Russo's exceptional vocal skills are on full display here, done so subtly yet enough that he's given both Danny and Ryan their own unique voices, as was the case with the supporting characters in this book. The material that Russo had to work with was he perfect lighthearted holiday read with just a punch of angst added to it to satisfy the angst addict in me, but then I expect nothing less from an author with Hayes's ability to write stories that weave their way around your heart and take root. This may sound cheesy, but I adored the jingle bells at the beginning and end of the audio because it's touches like these that I take note off. With just a little over a month till Christmas, allow me already name Leaning Into a Wish as one of my top audios of 2018. Five-plus stars. ♥

Short, sweet and sexy!

Leaning Into A Wish is the fifth book in the Leaning Into series by the fabulous Lane Hayes. I had the pleasure of listening to this book on audio and I enjoyed the hell out of it. It has some of my favorite things: sexy men, wine, and wishes. Ryan loves his job at the Napa Valley winery. But he doesn't love the sexy new intern, Danny. He's too nice, too good looking and everyone else loves him. But when it seems that Danny won't take no for an answer and wants to hang out and be friends, Ryan starts to melt a little. But Danny is straight and he can't start to fall for him. That would be very bad. Until Danny starts to sit closer, touch him more and then kisses him. Ok, maybe he's not straight. Danny just can't seem to stay away from the prickly Ryan. There's something about him that makes him want to be around him all the time. He's not the first man he's been with, but it's more than just attraction. Danny is just an intern and is supposed to be leaving after the holidays. So, what harm could a few wishes and some fun do? I really enjoyed this fast paced, sexy and fun romance. Nick J. Russo did a great job narrating it. He is great at multiple voices and I love this breathy thing he does. I will definitely be reading more from Lane Hayes and listening to more from Nick Russo!
