About this listen

It's the beginning of a new school year at Normalton University, and Dani Sloan has purchased a table for the big orientation extravaganza on the quad, determined to recruit the incoming freshmen as customers for her innovative packed-lunch business. Her food samples are a hit, but the good always seems to come with a dose of bad, and just a few days later, a man is murdered during the annual college-sponsored zombie crawl.

Once again, Dani finds herself caught up in something much more sinister than she had ever imagined when she opened her ambitious chef-to-go business - and the only way to ensure her own safety is to catch the culprit - fast.

Good mystery. Not hard to follow. Book is hard to put down once you've started. Both books in this series are worth the time.

Good Read.

I love this series. It gives you a lot of twists and could go a different way than you think.

Great story

I listened to the entire story in one day while packing my house to move. It kept me going! It was engaging but didn't use my brain too much, allowing me to concentrate on packing. The characters are likable. There are some good moral lessons.

Sweet and entertaining

it was a good story it was a little odd of a storyline but once you got more than halfway the story started to flush out a little bit and it was a very nice listen good story sort of easy to figure out who did it.

started off a little confusing

I enjoyed the book. The wide eyed optimism is refreshing if not realistic. But that is why I like cozy’s. Very much good guys and bad guys and little in between.

Great cozy book

Good sequel, good mystery, ridiculous love triangle, please get rid of it; characters are improving and the mystery has enough twists to keep you engrossed.

Good sequel

Once again Denise Swanson captivated me with the characters in this second book of the chef to go series. If you are familiar with her Scumble River series (which is a must read) you will enjoy her cross over of characters.
This story will keep you guessing until the end. Very well done! My only concern is: when is book 3 coming out!!! 5 stars for sure!!

Awesome series!

I liked the story and I like the characters but I didnt like the unnatural way the author makes them talk; with too much unnecessary detail. I also would get annoyed when a character would go through an event, then retell it two more times to the other charcters....too much repetition. I liked the overall story but I dont think it's as good as the first book in the series

It's back to school season in Normalton, Illinois. Unfortunately, things are not going well. Dani still has her hands full trying to launch and expand her Chef To Go business. Her friends and boarders are beginning to slack on their work duties. A series of car jackings strikes close to home. A lake monster is gaining notoriety. When Dani stumbles upon a dead body, she knows that she has to help figure out what happened.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's one of my favorite reads from the past few years. I loved seeing Frannie and Justin again. The original characters from the first book are more developed and endearing.

The mystery itself is very well plotted and paced. I didn't guess the ending and everything fit together well. I cannot wait for the next installment of the series. I plan to pre-order it as soon as it is available.

Even Better than the First Book in the Series!
