About this listen

The astonishing multimedia thriller - first seen on Facebook Messenger - now in print for the first time.

Police detective by day, celebrity food truck chef by night, now Caleb Rooney has a new title: most wanted.

In the Carnival days leading up Mardi Gras, Detective Caleb Rooney comes under investigation for a murder he is accused of committing in the line of duty - as a major crimes detective for the New Orleans Police Department. Has his sideline at the Killer Chef food truck given him a taste for murder?

While fighting the charges against him, Rooney makes a pair of unthinkable discoveries. His beloved city is under threat of attack. And these would-be terrorists may be local.

Entertaining book. I gather we’ll see the character of Killer Chef again. Makes city traffic acceptable.

Love James Patterson’s books. I just wish he wouldn’t use God‘s name in vain and not use the F word so much. The narrator did not really fit the role of the character.

Great story

I've enjoyed a lot of James Patterson's books, but didn't find this one all that exciting, and I did not enjoy listening to this particular reader.

"ok" story, not a fan of the reader

A very simple plot. Not up to Mr. Patterson usual depth of intrigue. I was waiting for more.

He has done Soo much better

Struggledcto to finish. narrator's voice was annoying, especially when he was trying to mimic the female voices. Only finished because i paid for it versus using the credit.

Yawn......

great book

I enjoyed this book and would recommend to others. However, I found that a lot of the scenes are simply too stretched out. Despite the theme of the book (terrorists operating in New Orleans), it does not more at a fast enough pace. I generally listen to unabridged books but, in this case, I think the the abridged might be more enjoyable. I found it a stretch that he is able to accomplish more than all the official agencies and that without him, the local police, the FBI and all the other agencies could not get anywhere until he gave them the lead to burst this plot wide open. I will say, it got exciting and fast-[aced in the last hour or two, but thee was too much extraneous material in the earlier parts. Still, I did enjoy the story and recommend it to others.

Too much rambling

James Patterson takes us to Louisiana in a thriller that kept me on my seat through the entire book.
