About this listen

Landon Dorch longs to play football, and he is definitely built for the game. Unfortunately two things stand in his way: his mother's worries and the fact that he is deaf. Landon hopes that the family's move to a new town will offer him a fresh start and that he can leave behind the teasing and taunts that marred life at his former school. But his speech problems and his cochlear implants seem to invite bullying.

Luckily he is not without help, starting with his loving and quirky family and then a great new friend on the team. Even so, in the end it will be up to Landon himself to battle his way past bullies and misunderstandings until he is no longer left out. Author Tim Green scores again with this masterful and heartwarming story of family and football!

Great story but Frustrating and too long developin

Very frustrating. this book took too long trying to establish the main character as a deaf person but not a special needs kid only to have the character act like a scared 2nd grader. I believe that Landon would be a much stronger character and not so weak in real life. The story spent too much time with everybody beating him down and him just taking it that when he finally did gain his strength it was anti-climactic. Just too frustrating of a character. Everytime Landon did something I found myself saying there's no way he would act that way. maybe it's just my opinion and I love Tim's writing I just found this one taking too long to develop I would have liked to have seen Landon come to his strength little earlier and go through the football season instead we didn't even get to finish the first game he played in and we don't know for sure that his team even won the game.. it just aluded too the fact. Too slow developing and too quick of an ending. At least finish the game and give a prologue about how everything ended. Just no satisfaction. Football genius is an excellent series though

Whats with the voice?

The narrator was trying to establish Landon as a deaf person but I think this is just rude to deaf people and the voice made me cringe throughout the book. The story though is very good and tim green is a great author. And is amazing!
