The narrator did a great job. I enjoyed listening to this story. It took a while to become interested, but once I was in, I had to know what was next. I rate this book with 3 Boundless stars; I liked it.

fun but short

this story was refreshing, even though I felt like the things with the two romantic characters moved fairly quickly it was easy to look past. I am looking forward to what's to come.

A great beginning

This audio Book comes alive with the narrator's voice. It is vivid and the characters are greatly written. I love fantasy worlds and Madean and Frain is becoming some.of my favorites. After meeting a human Prince named Ian Lera's ,a elven healer, life is thrown out of balance

Lera's sorrow

This is the first book to the Darkliete trilogy. It was awesome. It introduces the fantasy realms of Madean & Frain and takes you through the journey of Lera, a young elven healer faced with insurmountable odds

Needed more

While I enjoyed this story, for the most part, it was a little difficult to get in to without much background on the characters. When the story started, we were already in the thick of the plot, which caused me to lost a bit of focus on the story. It was difficult to connect with the characters, as well. It’s a nice story, but it needed more.

Totally Enchanted!

I really really loved this book. Chloe DeBurgh did an amazing job with the narration. I was enchanted from the beginning and listened to it in one afternoon. It is short which was the only thing I didn’t like- that it ended - but I am happy to know the story will continue. I love Elves, Selkies, Evil Queens and a handsome prince so this book had it all. It’s my first Gail Gernat book but I will definitely be looking at all her others. Once again, the narration was amazing, great story with a perfectly matched narration

Good Setup for 'Book 2'

I kind of felt like this book should have been labelled as a prequel or novella. However, it contains a good bit of necessary information for Illera's Darkliete.

Well written, but the most important part about this book is that it sets up the world and gives us a background as to where Illera comes from and where her mother went. There are some very cold aspects about this short book as far as Ian and Lera's relationship is concerned. Ian and Lera's 'bonding' is kind of sudden and then their love for each other is kind of hard to see. Plus there is a very catty mother-in-law.

It is short enough intriguing enough that I am interested to see where the author takes us in the next book of the series.

Also, I liked the narrator's performance, I feel like she did a pretty good job staying consistent with voice changes and speed.

I received a review copy at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.
