About this listen

Madison Archer was a perfect daughter, with perfectly dark secrets. She did not mind that her father used her as a pawn in a business deal. She knew this role well, but meeting Jackie Westin sent her perfect world into a tailspin. Jackie introduced Madison to a different kind of love in a different kind of world, a world that would bend everything Madison believed about life. This is a tale of forbidden love, in a world of dark secrets, betrayals, and intrigue.

A coming of age story in a world not ready for her kind of love. Madison must choose between two paths. One path leads to an accepted suburban lifestyle while the other path leads to love but not without a certain amount of bravery. Many people lead double lives, and others live a life imitated. Being in love with an identical twin has its disadvantages. As you learn the differences between the twins you may also learn the most important thing in life: that love is all we take with us.

Ok, I cried more than once listening to this book. One of the best I have listened to in this genre. Of course it had a plot twist that was too obvious, but otherwise the story was wonderful. My only other knock was the narrator. She had a breathy voice that just didn’t sound angry when it needed to be. But the great story made me forget about it. Unfortunately, I didn’t immediately see any other books in this genre from Gena Tuttle.

Outstanding Story

Typical twin trick, switching places to fool anyone who can’t tell them apart. This book is so cute, I thought it was for just.coming out, first time, lovers. Enjoyed it twice. Off to my next adventure.

first time experience with this author. I laughed, I cried a lot- at work mind you! I was frustrated, I felt anxiety, I was happy, I was completely satisfied in the end. The point is, the author wrote a story that completely pulled me in. The side characters really made the story, too! It is a coming if age story and a 2nd chance romance. I definitely recommend.

sigh, such a sweet book

Loved this sweet story :)

The narration is horrendous, the story itself is nice but I struggled to finish it. By the end of it I was so sick of hearing the phrase living an imitated life or some version of it. The narrator made the characters sound whiny.

Cute story
